Just received these grips for my new snubbie, which I haven't fired yet. I've got a feeling the stock grips on the 638 are not meaty enough. I plan on bringing both grips on my next shooting escapade...if I can handle the stock grips and get reasonable hits on target I'll keep them permanently on...they're nice & small.
Great for cc. The Pachs, though bigger, do not appear to diminish much the cc capability. They sure fit the hand securely & reside well in the De Santis Nemesis pocket holster.

Anyone else using the "Gripper" on their J-Frame?

I installed the Gripper Compac Pro on my Mod. 49. To me they are a world better than the stock stocks that it came with. I like them a lot and my ability to hold on target was increased greatly. Of course, there will be those that do not share the same experience.
Me: Glad I did it. Would do it again. Do recommend you try it.
Usually lots available on eBay in excellent condition at a fair price.

Understood. The only concern I have with them is the weight. They are fairly heavy, compared with the stock grips and especially if you carry for extended time.
