I'm planning on tricking out my sd9ve and having it as a stupid flashy cool gun to show at the range with friends. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience cerakoting their guns with a type of camo pattern, and how much did it cost. As for the barrel I was plainning on "gold" plating it with the titanium nitride.

Anyways can anyone point me to someone in the Nevada region who can do cerakote paint jobs on both the frame and slide. And if you got the job done can you put a pic up so I could see how well it turned out?

Please ... Don't call it your "Barbecue Gun "...

I find the thought of a engraved , plated and painted SD9VE to be rather ...unsettling !!!
Do you carry one concealed or open when attending a function ?

Are you wanting a legit fancy, show off gun, or are you wanting a troll gun, like the guys who port and red dot a hi point?

I just want a paint job on the frame and slide, and plate the barrel, that's about it. Just a gun to show off to friends, talk about it for a few minutes then have em shoot it. Just to add a little fun when at the range

Not my first choice for a paint job , but very interesting non the less. Guess I'll just keep searching the internet until i can find someone to do the job

I don't carry my gun when attending partys lol. As to doing custom work to an sd9ve, just to be different, add some fun to a cheap gun, really should only cost like $500. It will only be shot a few times

Yeah, but the gun only cost $300?!?
And after you put $500 more into customizing it then it's value to 99.99% of the people will be about $200 - unless you can find that one in 10,000 who wants a gun dolled up the exact same way.
I don't get it. But your gun, your money, do what makes you happy, and best of luck finding the right person to do it for you.

You think that's ugly, then prepare your eyes for this...

This monstrosity began it's life as a Taurus PT1911, but at some point in it's life, whoever owned it, let's just call him Bubba, decided, presumably after getting drunk and watching Iron Man, to Cerakoted it like...that.
Worse yet, he was apparently so proud of his work, that he seemed to think that it increased its value to upwards of $1000, because that's what he has repeatedly and unsuccessfully attempted to sell it for online.

Don't, just don't. Guns aren't supposed to look like a toy, if yours does it says a lot about you and they're not good things either.

I thought about polishing my SW40VE. I saw this and thought "BLING BLING". Decided against it though I do think it makes the inexpensive pistol look more expensive.

At least it was a Taurus (not bashing Taurus) instead of his grandpa's WW I 1911.

I'm thinking some bozo clown shoes at the range with a gun like that would blend right in?

I thought I was bad touching up wear on a muzzle on a 49/56 in grey park using brownells aluma Hyde II was bad. It lasted for decades till I sold it.
