Does it look similar to this?
Sounds like you have a Para-Ordnance SF-45-A. These were a special offering from Para sold only to active duty military in Iraq or Afghanistan. The pistols were purchased by a group order and delivered once the unit returned to the U.S. The unit could have any special markings such as Unit ID patch, flags etc added at an extra cost.
Notice the patch marking at the rear of the slide. Its the unit patch for my son's outfit. 278th Armored Calvary, Tennessee National Guard. On the other side is an American flag.
Some units went all out with all sorts of special markings. But as I said, the more you got, the more it cost. My son's unit decided to keep it simple and save some money.
My son ordered two when he was in Iraq and gave me one of them.
Here's a copy of the flyer Para sent out advertising these pistols. As you can see it has all the bells and whistles.
Para-Ordnance sold these to our boys at about half of what the normal retail would be if they sold them here.
I've only seen one other of these pistols. It was marked 101th Airborne and sadly it was for sale at a gun show.
