Bought another Para Ordnance handgun yesterday. Really like them & have been on a buying spree for about the last 2 years. Think they are undervalued. Never had a problem with any of them that was the guns fault. No FTF, FTE & the combat accuracy is plenty good. Especially like the high caps & LDA's (light double action). How do you guys feel about them.

I carried a P12-45 for several years after they came out. Perfectly reliable even with ashtray-type hollow point ammo. As long as you’re okay with cocked-and-locked, it’s hard to beat a package that gives you 12 rounds of .45 and is more comfortable to carry than a medium-frame snubbie. Never tried one of the LDA actions.
They can be good, utilitarian handguns.

Never shot them. The double-stack models I've handled seemed a little too chunky for my hands. I always thought the LDA guns were interesting. From what I've read reliability seemed to be hit-or-miss. I did have an instructor who had a P14 he built when Para-Ordinance first started selling frames; he liked it. That was about 20 years ago.

I have a match Super Hawg-the 15 shot one-won't be parting with it anytime soon. It was made way before big green.
Had one of their first gen LDA Officer's sized pistols, the C-7. It was a shockingly nice piece altogether. The trigger was simply the best trigger cocking stroke of any trigger cocker I've handled prior or since. Maybe 5 lbs.. Very easy to roll through. My singular issue was that the original recoil spring seemed to **** out at around 1k rounds but that was easily cured. It wasn't the most finely finished gun but it was dead nuts reliable, more accurate than it had a right to be. I understand that later generation LDA guns didn't have triggers that nice. Also, Para has changed ownership and I've yet to handle any of their latest guns. Seems a shame but they've been struggling and sadly haven't been able to keep up with the competition.
Had both the 9mm and 45 LDA, still have the 45 it is a great gun unbelievable trigger, out side of weight a great carry gun. Both were made in Canada, for a defense weapon there is something very comforting in its feel and big hole at the end of the barrel.

I understand it is really hard to find a photo of one of them.
I have a lightweight P-14 from about 1994. Other than it being a "fat boy", it functions Great! 15 rounds of .45 CAP is comforting. Never tried an LEA, but I want to. I seldom see them in stock anywhere, new or used, but I like mine just fine.

Don't know if they are still in business as the last website update looks to be 2014.

I see what you did there.
My son-in-law, an Air Force officer, has a Para Ordnance .45 that he really likes. I don't know which model, but he showed it to me once and I was impressed with what appeared to be its solid workmanship.

Bought one of the enhanced models when they first came out. Just started shooting it again, it’s accurate and reliable. It’s my choice for a survival gun with all the high cap mags I have for it. Been thinking of fitting a bushing in it and lightning the trigger a little. Shot IDPA type combat matches with it and did OK. Put a fiber optic front sight on it, helps the older eyes. If I have the urge to shoot an accurate gun, I take the S&W model 52. The Para will do anything I need.
As far as the bad resale associated with them, the HAWG looks interesting and would be cheaper to buy used. Larry

I have 2 LDAs that I used in IDPA and USPSA, and they are flawless.
I bought them when they were Canadian made, and will never sell them.
Remington bought the brand and ruined it. Remington does not honor the lifetime warranty of any Canadian-made Paras. I tried to buy more P18 magazines from Remington and was told "we still sell those but have been out of stock for nearly a year."
