Paracord Rifle Sling

Anyone using a paracord rifle sling on their 15-22? I personally love the concept and have had a bracelet for awhile now.

This one is made by a retired/wounded vet and like the design - Store - Paracord Rifle Sling

It's a few bucks more then the Chinese junk, but I like the idea of supporting USA and even more directly a soldier.

What do you guys think?

I've heard a very small minority of owners complain paracord slings dig into their shoulders...but I honestly have a very hard believing this to be true except for "sensitive" types. Thoughts?

They state they are using US paracord which I just assumed was the norm. But is their knockoff paracord out there?

I also like the idea of it being adjustable, makes sense to me.

If I had to carry the weapon all day long, paracord wouldn't be my first choice.

I'd definetly use it as an emergency sling tho if the oppurtunity arises.

I've used bailing twine for slings when I was a kid, as I was brung up on a farm. It left rope burns.

Sounds like a great idea. But to play devil's advocate... the paracord bracelets, and I'm assuming the sling to be no different, is to give you usable "rope" in an emergency. If you did find yourself in a SHTF situation and needed some rope in a pinch, you'd have plenty of it in a sling, but now no rifle sling - something you are going to miss greatly if on the move. And if you don't ever need it, paracord doesn't make for a comfy sling.

I'd find a different way to have a paracord supply handy. My .02

I was doing some reading on these and it looks like you get 50 - 70' of paracord in a rifle sling!! If the SHTF and I needed to use it, I'd use what I needed and then simply create a makeshift sling with the remaining rope. It won't be ideal, but realistically if it holds the rifle securely, that's all I need.

For the same utility (sling + emergency rope) from another device, I'd essentially have to keep loose paracord/rope with me and honestly, I'll probably never do that.

Also, with how light these rifles are and after speaking with a few guys today, I think the parcord sling will provide a level of comfort/utility I'm comfortable with.

I think I may pull the trigger and order two of them. I was looking around at comparable US made paracord slings and they cost a bit more...and even if they were more expensive, I'd do just about anything to support a wounded vets small business.

I make my own, it's easy to learn how to do and requires no tools.
Heck, the instructions are probably somewhere out there on the interweb .

This is the one I just used and order my two. The discount isn't bad, $3 off...probably the cost savings for shipping everything together.

i've made many bracelets and a sling for my 15-22...i didn't weave it tight so it is not stiff, it's wide enough that it won't cut into me. it was easy enough to weave, using the same as the one posted(you tube user-tyiat(tying it all together) has many many videos for paracord designs). i used roughly 100ft of paracord, if not more.

i scavenged a cheap sling from walmart to use the adjustable part...

I decided to grab a set with the push button qd's. The price bump was very low for this option considering they are US made.

I like the idea of a paracord sling and have made several key chains, zipper pulls etc... out of paracord myself. I would prob suggest keeping the sling intact and carrying some paracord with you. This is a very good tutorial on paracord management for your bug out bag and the store also has some of the best leather sheaths I have ever seen.

Got a really nice paracord sling that matches the MOE DE on wife's 15-22. She likes it (does anything else matter). Fully adjustable and reasonably priced. A buddy makes them in variety of colors including campaign ribbon colors. He's a vet and good guy: Phil Moore, [email protected]. I'll support any vet that can honorably wear CIB.
