I bought a Ruger revolver at a gun show last week. At another show today I did not see much I liked. On my third pass through, I spied a 5926. I had passed a few years ago on a third gen 45 with the frame mounted decock lever. I sat down and looked on the forum about various posts on the 5926.
This example was in good shape but the slide finish looked funky. Moore like nickel than stainless steel. There were not any dots under the decock lever. The grips were not in great shape. I read that the standard 5906 grips did not fit. It came with only 1 S&W 14 round mag.
Another seller had factory 15 round mags for $ 20 each. I was thinking maybe I should have bought some of the mags anyway. And I know Mecgar sells 5906 mags reasonably.
Did I make a mistake or the right decision?
