Yesterday I went to a pawn shop I frequent that is near work on the way back from lunch. Sometimes he has something good so you never know. A fat barreled Model 64 I had been coveting but thought he was too high on was gone. He had a little of this and a little of that. As I eyeballed my way down the pistol case right next to an RG 22 was one of my grail guns. A 3" adjustable sighted Model 60! I couldn't believe it! He had just put it out that morning. I had just left another place where I didn't buy a Model 10. I was glad I let the Model 10 go by when I looked at the 60 and saw it is like new! Hallelujah thank you Jesus! I had to give $400 for it but I don't care. I have been trying to get one of these for years! I think I will load up some cream puff wadcutter loads and have some fun.

that's it..... I need to start hitting the pawn shops.

Nice find!

You didn't pay too much at all - I think four bills is a steal. Congrats! I have its blued cousin, the 36-6 and it is a sweet shooter.

Ya gonna love that one, I have one with target grips. It stays with me all the time.
Glad you found it.

Wow!
I keep hitting pawnshops and gunshops hoping to find one of those in that condition around $400 or so!!!!!
I want to find one in 2010 for the wifey.
Congrats!!

Like those target grips a lot.
I have the same on my pre-34.
They seem to balance out that 3" 60 very nicely.

tndave please post a ranger report on your model 60 you have quite a find i have been looking hi and low like a wild man trying to find a model 60 of my very own but so far no luck

There seems to be agrowing bunch of us that have recently acquired these.
Congrats on being the latest.

I saw mine in the forum classifieds and jumped on it like a june bug on a ducks back, or something like that.

I would have given that much for one of those. I haven't ever seen any used ones. The only comparable thing that I've seen, was a 337ti, with a very similar barrel length, and I don't think the 337 would be very fun shooting compared to the model 60.

60 adjustable sight Model

I bought mine NIB two years ago for $450.00 I would expect to pay $595.00 around here in Minnesota nowadays.
I am surprised that you thought $400.00 was a lot , how much was the Model 10 you did not buy ?
$50.00 ? Just kidding , but I am always surprised by regional price differences.
I made a great new gun acquaintance down in Texas last summer through a Gun Broker transaction and we are both surprised at the price differences we see.
Revolvers seem cheaper in Texas, and I seem to run into 1911's for less then he does.

Guns are cheap in my area. The Model 10 I didn't buy was a 4 screw tapered barrel for $245. It was mechanically good but well carried. The blue was about 60%. I would go $150 for it. He also had a 4 screw Model 10 with a heavy barrel which I thought was unusual. It may have been rebarreled.

The pawn shop the Model 60 came from doesn't give me real good deals. Every once in a while he does. Other ones are better price wise. Competition is fierce though with insider trading, cherry picking, all that stuff. There have been times I was on the gravy train at a shop and times when I had no good shops at all.

I took the sideplate off the 60 and there was not a speck of crud under there. No wear at all. The double action is OK but not great. I wish it has a narrow trigger instead of the wide target trigger but I can live with it. Maybe one day I will switch it.

I feel sorry for guys who live in areas with high gun prices or no guns. Of course the down side is the reason there are so many guns here is because you need one!

Some time ago, I let one slip thru my fingers at a show. We were $25.00 apart - he wanted $325 and I offered $300.00. Kicked myself as soon as I got home. Never saw the guy again at any local shows. Finally broke down and bought a new one. Great gun.
