Tomorrow would be the perfect day to go all out and kill as many high level Al Qaeda and Taliban types as possible, just to keep 'em scared.

Probably won't happen though...

I believe that our military and the CIA do this pretty much every day now, as best as they can.

Today would be a good day to pull out all of the stops.

Al Qaeda and the Taliban need to experience more fear than usual today.

Today would be a great day to kill Ayman al Zawahiri. I wouldn't want him captured, because now he'd be treated as a POW, when what he really needs is a liberal application of a soldering iron and a cheese grater.

I would not be surprised if aq used this day to make a "statement." I would not be surprised if our armed forces are not also planning a "conversation" with aq. If so, the language used will be the "last argument of kings." And the winner will be the ones who have the last word in that argument.

If we allowed the Generals and the fighting men to do their jobs and not having the politicians and too many other brass hats in the way that maybe we could have dealt with this vermin by now. Personally I can think nothing better than that we should have reigned hell on earth to those responsible for this. You read some of the statements made by some in charge after Pearl Harbor and the Japanese were to be shown no mercy. Admiral Chester Nimitz for example ordered his sub command to sink anything flying a japanese flag, whether it was a junk or an aircraft carrier. There are far too many "rules" in this conflict. The Taliban, AQ and the rest of them all chose to break these rules by targeting civilians. To me the gloves were taken off. We should have made darn sure that there would be a terrible price for attacking this country and that they never dared to do it again. We are still playing defense in a way here because we have to try and intercept everything they are trying. I think Bin Laden's body should have been brought home, and it should have been displayed and all would know what happens when you attack and target civilians in this country.

should have displayed him in a glass coffin full of pig blood.

I've always seen this as a purely technical exercise, like clearing Iwo Jima. It's simply a matter of killing as many of them as possible for as long as necessary, with the least possible losses to ourselves, until there aren't any more of them.

It's a shame that it literally took years to get reliable torpedoes to do it.

The perfect metaphor for this fight is the movie "Tombstone". When you go after the women and children, the gloves come off and don't come back on til one side's eliminated. On 09/12/01, Bush should have said, "Tell bin Laden I'm coming and hell's coming with me."

This fight never was, and never should be about courts and "justice". It's about a bullet in the head, a knife across the throat and a RECKONING.

shame us Brits didn't sort out the IRA per the recommendations of the posters on this thread...

I belive in mopping up those respondsable, but dont belive in killing their kids. I did belive in bombing hiroshima because of the logistics if we didnt. Since world war two it seems we have never fought to win. I belive we made a huge mistake not takeing out the iraq army as they went back into iraq from kuwait. What can I say about korea and vietnam? They most obvisely were handeled wrong by our liberal politicians. Once the ball opened the presidents and congress should have stepped aside and let the generals handle it!
Look, I exspect flack from this but will say it anyway. Why in hell do we like to fight on the other side of the world, but let cuba 90 miles away go commie when residents were asking for our help! Even worse we do nothing about mexico invadeing us!!!!! I think our politicans have their head`s somewhere where the sun dont shine!
