I'm sure may Western Govt's. will be pleading money to rebuild the destruction of the country by Russia.

A novel idea, since Russia did all of the damage to the Ukraine, why not make the Russian's pay for it? A lot of Russians assets have been frozen so the Russian's can not access them. Why not just seize all of those assets and give them to the Ukraine to help rebuild their country. Assets like the yachts and property can be sold and the funds given to the Ukraine. I'm sure there are many more which could be confiscated and used to rebuild the country.

This has been under discussion since last spring among the NATO countries. While it seems the allies are agreed that it would be a good idea to use seized Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine, currently there is no legal framework to do this:

Edited to add: Re the title of this thread, "Paying to Rebuild the Ukraine," I learned, after the war began, that supporters of Ukraine do not refer to it as "the Ukraine." "The Ukraine," I learned, makes Ukraine seem/feel less like an independent country and more like a province, or territory, or dependency of Russia.

This was news to me, and I still find myself correcting myself when I inadvertently say or write, "the Ukraine," as I have been doing my entire life until this year.

Anyway, I pass this on to those who may have interest.

I see a pretty simple framework. "You broke their stuff and killed their people so you're going to pay to fix things."

Imagine if only France and England had pushed Hitler right back out of the Rhineland in 1936 as he started his European annexation. He knew couldn't hold it, but isolationism and apathy won over common sense.

Ukrainians learned from what Hitler did to Czechoslovakia...apparently, so did NATO.

Plans

Rebuilding Ukraine.

Make Putin pay to build Ukraine? I hope I've worded it suitably, for everybody.

The virtuous plan that you folks propose, is commendable, but When all aspects of this complex plan, are considered, I believe it's improbable.

There are many reasons, I.E., Greed, apathy, ignorance, lack of correct information etc. ; Putin is fully, aware of what he can and cannot be forced to do.

The bottom line is; when the Russians, are dissatisfied with his leadership, they'll eliminate the problem as they did with Stalin.

Have Russians, ever, at any cost, willingly, obeyed orders from anyone?

Nuff said.

Puti can pay for all OUR weapons and ordnance and gear we sent. That has not been replaced!

Putin will pay for rebuilding the crescent that he will own around the eastern and southern edges of the Ukraine--now part of Russia.

What's left of the Ukraine..........everything west and north of the new Russian acquisitions will be rebuilt very slowly with charity from the U.S. and other nations.

That's fair........because the heavy assistance we gave to the Ukraine served only to prolong the war and extend the destruction for many months.

Here's part of what the EU is doing.

BRUSSELS, July 4 (Reuters) - The European Investment Bank, the lending arm of the European Union, is proposing a funding structure previously used during the COVID-19 pandemic to help rebuild Ukraine with up to 100 billion euros ($104.3 billion) of investment, according to a document seen by Reuters.

The EU-Ukraine Gateway Trust Fund (E-U GTF) would seek to have an initial 20 billion euros in contributions from EU countries and the EU budget in the form of grants, loans and guarantees.

Bigboy99 your solution smells of common sense!
That alone ought to tell ya that it will never happen.
The underpinnings here is that Ukraine gets leveraged and virtually ' owned' by the " helping hands".
That is China's play with third world countries. China is owning them bit by bit.
