Hey guys, on my new PC model... I was wanting to add a flash hider to it. Does anyone know what the thread is suppose to be on the end? I've found a couple on Midway that I really like, just don't know which ones are the correct kind.
What do you think about the ones I've picked out here?
Yankee Hill Machine Muzzle Brake Phantom 5C2 Aggressive 1/2"-28 Thread AR-15 Parkerized - MidwayUSA
DoubleStar Cayman Flash Hider 1/2"-28 Thread AR-15 Steel Matte - MidwayUSA
its a preference issue--they are simply an asthetic upgrade--they wont have any effect on the performance of the rifle so go with what you like
I personally picked up one of Tacticool22's shrouds...i like the clean plain look

Technically not correct - they are supposed to reduce muzzle rise or suppress the visible flash from firing. However, on a .22LR there isn't a lot of muzzle rise or flash in the first place, so I suppose these might not do much.
These do 2 totally different things - the Yankee Hill is a brake, so it reduces the muzzle rise when firing the gun allowing for a quicker follow up shot. The DoubleStar is a flash hider, so it is supposed to reduce the visible flash created from the gun firing. This means that is up to you depending on what you want for a desired effect.
I have the Yankee Hill on my AR15, and I love it. I think it works great, especially for the cost of it.
I am new to 'tricking' out rifles. I did notice that when I put the little end cap that came w/ the PC model on the end of the barrel, went to the range and shot it, when I got home it was really loose and I know it was tightened really well. Do you use anything to lock it down once you know you want it on there for quite a long time? Lock tight or anything of the like?
Thanks for the advice on explaining the differences in the equipment, I had no idea that they had different uses. I will def. read into it.

So I was looking through this thread again, and realized I made a mistake. the YHM you listed is both a muzzle brake and flash suppressor. It serves both purposes. I was thinking of the 5M2, not the 5C2.
Probably not a big difference to you, but I just wanted full disclosure, haha.
