I ma considering the purchse of a 15-22. Is the trigger on the PC version better than that on the standard version? Are there any other real pluses to the PC versiopn?

some people feel like its worth it to upgrade. id just use the extra $ and upgrade the trigger on a standard 15-22. the 2" barrel doesnt make all that much of a difference for the distances most people shoot.

I like the looks of the 18 inch barrel, but I don't like the price over that of a MOE.........So far I have no complaints about my "blue spring" trigger.

Hi, I'm in the same boat with the blue trigger springs here. I feel maybe I'll run a couple thousand more rounds through the MP15-22 to really get the feel and let the metal wear a bit to see if I need to address the trigger. ....WVleo

I bought the PC version after my MOE version and I actually sent the PC back to S&W because it didn't perform up to the extra $200 spent compared to the MOE for accuracy.
I got it back and they replaced the upper and I think they did a trigger job. It then would group as tight as my MOE. I sold it and bought a Sport and have never looked back.

YRMV but I think for the extra cost, I'd buy a 10/22 VQ if accuracy is your goal.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I think you have some ammo limitations on the PC version.

The standard versions shoot pretty good.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with the trigger on mine, so I can't comment about another version being better.

ChattanoogaPhil......I have wondered if the chamber of the PC was polished out to the chamber size on the regular 15 22, would it improve things?......I sure like the 18 inch barrel.

There's a science to match chambers that I'm sure someone here can explain a lot better than I. A match chamber is typically a bit tighter and shorter which allows the bullet to engage the rifling when chambered which eliminates jump and maintains consistency.

I'm not sure a match chamber makes a great deal of difference unless you're using ammo and a rifle to 'match'. The advertised Laney chamber on the PC model doesn't seem to be delivering much different results according to what I have read here from PC owners.

I'm happy with my PC. I planned on buying a Vltor stock and Hogue grip anyway, and when I realized the PC came with it and the RRA trigger I went for it. Plus I like the longer fluted barrel. Didn't mind spending the extra $150.

My brother in law has the green 15-22 and his trigger is a little stiffer than mine and has some creep but he couldn't be happier with it. Told him to try a set of JP yellow springs but he is satisfied with it as is.

I have and shoot a PC model in speed steel competition. Any real differences are hard to find unless you want to make a lot of changes to the rifle. Most of the issues I have seen can be fixed if you spend the $$$ to put a Geissele Super 3-Gun trigger in any of the models. At least for competition use like mine. The JP springs were a help but there is no substitute for the S3G. I didn't like the quad rail either as the gun needed a long modular rail. All of those things don't require a PC model. I think it is slightly more accurate off my benchrest based on using some of my friend' standard models, but it is not a great amount. It is a little more finicky for ammo due to the smaller tighter chamber, so that could be a minus.
