Does the S&W forum braintrust know of anywhere that archives older S&W catalogs in PDF or other electronic format? I'd like to browse through the catalogs from the 80s-current and I'm sure someone, somewhere has the obsessive interest to keep them alive online. Thanks in advance for your help!

S&W Catalogs 1979-2010

I have most S&W catalogs from about 1979 to 2010 plus a bunch of spec sheets from the early 90s. I would be willing to donate most of them to this site if someone was able to put them on the forum for everybody to use and enjoy. PM me if any interest from forum owners.

info I was looking for but never thought to ask, and the links dont work...

I have some older S&W brochures and technical documents I can scan and share as PFS's. Could someone please tell me what the best internet tool for uploading and sharing these documents is?

Just Google it. Older S&W Catalogs.

Hahaha, you dragged 3-year-old thread up to say "just google it?" Awesome! For reference, I had googled it and contributed what I found at the time, but had not found the 80s-90s vintage catalogs I was looking for.

Posted from my car phone.

We seem to be having a lot of 'necro posting' of late here. I have to say, "just Google it", is more than a bit strange in the context of dredging up a several year old post.

Is the MrTrolleyguy screen name telling us this is a TROLL poster, or is that just a humorous coincidence?

A helpful tip when Google searching for something specific like a PDF is to use the advanced search function to search by file type. A search like that can help filter out a ton of stuff you're not interested in. The little cogged wheel in the upper right corner takes you to advanced search function when selected from the drop down menu. Using " " around search terms can help filter the search as well. Sometimes spelling out "Smith & Wesson" yields more than "S&W". Play around with the terms when searching, trying both less and more terms.

I don't know of any repository of S&W catalogs in PDF. However something almost as good are old editions of Gun Digest and the Shooter's Bible. I think the publishers of Gun Digest offer CDs of the full run of Gun Digest back to 1944 at a fairly reasonable price. Each has a catalog section for every maker, not just S&W. Old editions of Shooter's Bibles are where you find them. I have some going back into the mid-1950s.

Several years ago I found a website where a guy posted many older (80s and 90s) S&W catalogs but I somehow lost the link and was never able to find it again.

Examples of Google searches that do not provide successful results:

("smith & wesson" OR s&w) AND catalog AND (scan OR pdf OR archive) AND (1989 Or 1990 OR 1991 OR 1992 OR 1993 OR 1994 OR 1995 OR 1996 OR 1997 OR 1998 OR 1999 OR 2000 OR 2001 OR 2002 OR 2003 OR 2004 OR 2005 OR 2006 OR 2007 OR 2008)

"smith and wesson catalog archive"

Well, here's one with the 2002 catalog and some other interesting archived parts lists and other documents: The Reload Bench Downloads Page. We're getting warmer!

Hopefully this is a necro for a good cause - I was searching for the 2002 catalog but reloadbench.com is defunct :(

Luckily the wayback machine comes to the rescue, so anyone else seeking the 2002 S&W Catalog in PDF form can get it (in two parts) from:
http://web.archive.org/web/20120111...ch.com/downloads/pdf-files/sw/SW_Catalog1.pdf
and
http://web.archive.org/web/20120111...ch.com/downloads/pdf-files/sw/SW_Catalog2.pdf

Now if I could find the 1993 (and 1992 perhaps) catalogs I'd be even luckier!
