I have two pair after trying other brands. They are the best! If your shooting range is close to major powerlines, the Peltors will not pickup much EMF noise. The other will to the point of being useless. I have two pair because as an instructor, every class has someone that is hard of hearing and can't hear my instructions without them. If you want to sight in a really big and loud rifle use them with inter-ear foam earplugs. I have worn Peltors 8 hours a day for 5 days with no discomfort. IMHO, you won't go wrong getting yourself a pair. .......... Big Cholla

Thanks Big Cholla...I was wondering if these are heavy? The gel pads seem like they would be advantageous but not if they add alot of weight.

I have a set of Pro-Ears. They work very well, comfortable and they are made just up the road from me in Westcliffe Colorado.

I like the Peltor brand, were made in USA when I bought mine, dunno where they are made now a day.
They do lack a little in NRR, as they are around 19 or 20 if IIRC. I too use the inner plugs, I had a set made that fit very well. Normal shooting is fine, but for loud stuff, use the inner.
Seriously, now that I am older, I can appreciate saving every bit of hearing possible. I can still hear, but there are many times when it's very diffucult, especially in social situations. Take the best care of you hearing while you can! I would spare no expense for the best protection I could afford.
