People who owned Model 19 snub noses, what do/did you think of them?

I had one for a while ,model 19 , 2 1/2" bbl , nickel plated , Square butt , SWEET ...owner let me keep it for him while he was overseas .
That short bbl and adjustable sight look is just all business handsome and it shot very well to boot !
Came back , wanted to sell it to get married and my DUMB self didn't buy it ... $200 seemed like a lot of money and I was thinking I wanted a round butt .... Dumbest thing I've ever done and I still regret NOT buying it 50 years later !
Don't make the same mistake I did ... no matter how expensive the cost looks now ... it's not going to go down... always goes up !

My 19-5 was purchased new in 1986. I carried it in a Safariland Model 19 shoulder rig, as a back up to my department issued Model 686 when working mids, and as off-duty carry for a while as well. Once I started working when the sun was out, BUG duty went to a Model 38, but I never even once considered parting with the 19. Still have it, still shoot it, still carry it on occasion, and still love it.

I gave my 2 1/2" 66 no dash to a good friend two years ago.
His EDC is a Ed Brown .45 1911 and the 66 is his BUG.

He is a retired LEO and re-qualifies ever year. His last time he scored
100% with his EB 1911 and scored a 98 with his 66.

He out shot every other officer that was qualifying with their bottom feeders.

He always wanted a 2 1/2" 66 but never found one that worked out for him.
A good friend since our childhood and a retired LEO I felt he had it coming.

He loves it.

Here's my modest contribution. It was a police gun that had left all of it's finish on the playing field. It was a mess but had not been fired much. I sent it home for a redo and this is what they sent me back. I have to admit that I haven't shot it much but it looks nice. Some day I'm going to put some nice stocks on it. The photo doesn't come close to doing it justice.

I've been lucky enough to have several 2 1/2" model 19's one of which is my daily carry revolver, as well as 2 1/2" model 66's. IMHO there is no better all around personal defense revolver. They are small and light enough to tote yet still feel like a real gun in your hand.

I generally use HOT 38 special ammo in my model 19/66's. Think 38/44 loads:).

I just received a few boxes of Buffalo Bore Outdoorsman Hard Cast +P and hollow points just for my 2.5" 66. I'm gonna try them out this weekend, hopefully.
Oh, I just ordered some 357 Buffalo Bore too. But I'm still debating whether or not to shot them in my k-frames.

They just gotta alot of soul....
