Would Love some quick thoughts. I do not or have not owned any SW but my revovlers which I love. My Dealer has a PC 945. I am a Bulleyes shooter mainly 1911's. This gun seems to have it all but in the price of a STI or Les Bear I am looking at. My question is is this gun really that great or does the PC tag and the beautiful looks push up the price. Can pic it up at a great price from MSRP but still only a notch below STI Target Master. Any knowledgeable thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I've contributed posts to a lot of 945 threads, so I'm confident if you do a search for "945" you'll have more information that you could ever want. Good luck in your decision.

I shoot Bullseye and have for way too many years to recount. The Colt Gold Cup was my "go to" pistol for years but it now takes back seat to my 945. The Colt is still a nice gun but, in my experience, the 945 is more accurate and more reliable. That's all I needed to know and was enough for me to make the switch.

For all you Colt aficianados, the Gold Cup makes for a really great back-up piece!

Everyday when I walk in to the range it is there looking at me growing weak lol

I find my early Model 945 shoots more accurately than any other .45 ACP pistol I have shot, definitely in the running with Les Baer or other higher-end 1911's or better as a value.

I would pounce on that in a heartbeat before someone else figures out just how good a 945 PC gun really is!!You will NOT regret it.

OK I HAVE SHOT SEVERAL 945'S AT 50YDS FROM A RANSOM REST AND A COUPLE OF 845'S. NONE OF THE 945'S OUT SHOT THE 845'S.THE 945'S HOVERED AROUND4-5" AT 50YDS. THE 845 WERE BOTH 3" GUNS. NONE OF THEM WERE CLOSE TO A BULLSEYE BUILT 1911.MY ROCK RIVER ARMS .45CAL 1911 IS 1.25" AT 50YDS FROM THE RANSOM REST. MY 9MM 1911 FROM RRA IS 1.1" AT 50YDS. JUST MY EXPERIENCE. THE SMITH PC GUNS ARE VERY ACCURATE BUT NOT UP TO BULLSEYE STANDARDS. BUT I DO LOVE THEM SO. JP

OH YEA THE 952'S DON'T SHOOT ANYWHERE AS GOOD AS THE PPC9'S DO AT 50YDS EITHER. JP

I used the S&W 945PC for bullseye pistol 2700's in the 45 stage. Superbly accurate, feeds 185 gr. LSWCHP's and everything else flawlessly and comes with an outstanding trigger from the factory - did I use too many superlatives? I used it with a Docter optic sight in a BME mount which replaced the rear sight. All of my 2700's were at indoor 50 ft ranges at which distance the 945 delivered 1/2 to 3/4 in. groups off a sanbag rest.

TSQUARED, do you have a picture of the 945 with the Doctor sight and BME mount that you could post? Thinking of doing that to one of mine. Thanks
