I was going to pick up a Talo 686 3-5-7 when I ran across discussions of this gun on this forum, thanks forum.

Received today 66-6 F-Comp, WOW!

Just handling it has been a pleasure, action job is really nice

Smith got this one right...

Hope it shoots as well as it feels

I had both original grips on it but I think the magnas will fit my sons hand best, he will be learning revolver on this beauty with .38s, he is shooting a semi-22 now with no revolver experience...

If anyone happens to be on the fence on this one, I'd say get off it you would have a hard time (and so would your wallet) to do any better...

They don't know it but the safe holds a pre model 17 and a 3" 66 for each of my boys when they turn 21.

I got the call this morning from the gun shop that my F comp has arrived. The only problem is that we had a foot of snow and I am stuck in my back driveway @#&!&*#(#!.

Jeff I am with you, Smith seems to have a winner with the model 66 in general and the 3 inch in particular. Then you add a PC treatment and a ported barrel...what is not to like. I am looking forward to getting some range time. And I am looking at this gun as an investment. I don't think the price will go down.

If I had to choose between a 27-2 shooter and the 66 F comp PC I don't know which way I would go.

BTW in case you weren't aware I just read that in the -6 of the 66 series they changed the metallurgy to clear up any weakness issues for .357 use, and fixed forcing cone issues, so as a user they -6 would seem to be the way to go

Very nice revolver. I have long been a fan of the short-barrel N-frame .357s, but your PC 66-6 makes me think I might want to check out one of those as well.
