To those in the know, would the crossroads show on the 18th of Oct be worth driving from Tucson to check out? I'm not looking for toy helicopters, tasers, knock-off scopes and the such. Maybe some shooter grade N/L frames at decent prices. I ask because the one here last month was a joke. ( I found a 29-2 6", well used, cracked grips, blueing almost gone, some pitting and no box for $1300, he said if it had the box he be giving it away for $1600). If it's worth it I may convince the wife to make it a whole weekend. Thanks in advance.

I haven't been to one in three years. The parking was expensive and it was a waste of time.

YMMV, as this was like I sad three years ago.

I don't usually attend the Crossroads shows held in Glendale but I can say they're usually fairly large with a decent selection of guns, etc.
Admission is expensive,$15 or so ,but parking is free there.

I will be attending the Crossroads show in Phoenix at the fairgrounds in December. It's around 1500 tables and you get a bonus in that the SAR(full auto) show is going on at the same time and one entry gets you into both shows.
Let me know what else you're interested in and I''ll try to be more specific.

Yes, I was asking about the Glendale show @ the stadium. I swore off the shows around here because of the flea market atmosphere rather than guns. I may just go and pay attention to the individuals walking/selling rather than the handful of tables that have rusty gold that has the appearance of a gun.

Well:
I generally find at least one item worth buying at these shows and where else can you see this many guns for sale in a couple of hours. I've made some nice buys over the years and have never felt I was wasting my time.
I bought a Ruger 357 Blackhawk complete with a holster rig at a show a couple of years ago from a walk-in. It was cable tied(requirement) and several dealers had passed on it because it appeared that the cylinder was out of alignment. I asked to see it and the disgusted seller said it was mine for $100 as he was tired of walking around. I figured it was still worth that even if it needed a trip to Ruger. The kicker was he then pulled the extra 9mm cylinder(still boxed) out of a bag and said this goes with it. The final kicker was when I got it home and removed the cable tie I discovered there was nothing wrong with the cylinder at all. Who ever installed the tie managed to get it so tight that the cylinder just looked misaligned.
I dislike the "Russian collectibles", beef jerkey and jewelry tables as much as anyone but unfortunately there a regular part of the scene at gun shows now.
As far as I'm concerned the December Crossroads show is among the best in the country due to the SAR(full auto) sellers setting up there.
If you don't see anything you want at this show I suspect you're walking around with a white cane.

Crazy, I've been to quite a few Crossroads shows. There will certainly be tons of guns to look at. N/L frames at "decent prices" or $100.00 Rugers, not so much. Don't worry though, that guy with the beater 29-2 will probably be there, and give you the opportunity to buy it for $1600.00, because now it's even older and more collectible than the first time you saw it;-)
