Went to a gun show Sat and while scanning the tables I saw a 4 inch 28 so I took a better look but the FFL went for a walk and I kept going and thinking about the 28 in the glass case . I was coming back the ffl was their. I asked to see it and it was a 28-2 with a very good trigger N1729xx very clean but fired in its day with just a little holster wear on barrel side not much this was a very clean smith . So I took it for this price this was a dealer a older guy I see at other shows . All its pinned and recess it has the bigger N frame grip they are nice they are the old ones with the thumb area on them I would like to got the smaller right ones / would it have diamond grips ??? I was not looking for one of these but had one years ago when a 28 was 200 bucks . I seem to be getting back some of the older stuff I had and goy rid of like a FBI 459 and a old model ruger 357 in box shipped 1966 like the one my dad had and let me shoot . also spied a mint nickel 439 or it was a 39-2 for 500 I no where its at .

Congrats on the HP. With that serial number it would come from 1973 so no it would not have the diamond magna grips. They went away around 1967/68 I believe.

At that price and condition you had no choice but to bring it home. Quality N Frame, sub- $300 - SCORE!
I had one in 4 inch years ago and I do run into 6 inch from time to time . I found a 3.5 pre model 27 for 425 about 5 years ago for 425 and did not buy it . It was a trade to a guy who deals old Winchesters and he was not into handguns . I kick myself all the time for not jumping on it . I took this 28 -2 home for that price
