picked it up a couple of days ago and finally got to shoot it today. was able to shoot a tight group and more than happy with the purchase. the blueing on it is still really nice. without a doubt the heaviest pistol I have ever owned but feels so nice in the hand.

can't wait to put some more rounds through it!

Nice 586. I have one like it as well and don't shoot it enough. Love the old style chunky target stocks as opposed to the current issue Hogue's.

Nice 586! Here is mine.
From top to bottom: 1985 586 no dash, 1990 617, 1985 686 no dash I am very happy with them. Very accurate, great triggers on all of them.

The real problem

M586 blue: 2-1/2", 4", 6", 8-3/8" barrels. M686 stainlesss: 2-1/2", 4", 6", 8-3/8" barrels.

There are ramped sights, Patridge sights, adjustable silouette front sights, and barrels cut for special Millet rings. The M586 w/ 2-1/2" barrel is scarce.

You have just 1 revolver. There will be many more calling your name. I think I've heard 11 calling loudly but one got sold off. Congratulations on getting started with piece #1. Don"t sell it!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Here are my 586L-Frames 4" & 6" that are now 29yrs and 27yrs old
respectfully. Great shooters. I still have the original wood grips stored away.
