Being a sucker for anything 41 mag I was able to snag this one in Phoenix yesterday, it’s a stainless 4 inch version, this is one big hunk of iron, way over built. Sitting next to my 4 inch 657 it’s like a Mack truck next to F-150. I was able to fire off a few rounds of both at the range yesterday and like all the DW I’ve had it was extremely accurate, trigger was not crisp like the 657, actually rather clunky, but still a keeper for me.

Any other DW 41 owners out there?

Not a DW owner, but I like that revolver. I'm curious how that feels to shoot compared to my only two N frames: 4" 357 Magnum (M27-9) and 6" 44 Magnum (M629-6, half lug). That one's pretty beefy and should help with recoil of the 41 Magnum, one I've never shot, and with the smooth stocks that cold maybe become a little slicker with sweaty hands, etc. Just questions so I can learn. That one would be hard to pass up for me, depending on the price. That is nice, though.

It was like shooting 38 thru an N frame, the size really sucked up a lot of the recoil, and like all the DW’s I’ve had, very accurate. I was able to grab it from a Private seller for $875 which I thought was a nice deal, he also had a 41 Redhawk for the same price it must have had an action job because it was slick, I may go back for it.

I wonder if a different profile barrel shroud would be available. That might lighten it up for carrying in the field. It will never be a 58 but might be lighter. I handled an eight inch gun years back that was a good shooter but built only for the range, IMO.

The large frame DW is overbuilt for 44 Magnum and waaaaaaaay overbuilt for the 41 Magnum cartridge. I do not think it is possible to shoot one enough so as to make it go out of time.

Breadman, you are on my LIST, Sir. :o
She would've been MINE were it not for the Sand-Man having
flummoxed me when the seller returned my text.
At least it's nice to see it went to a fellow forumite.
If you even wanna compare it s-x-s with the .44Mag version, lemme know and we can hook-up. :D

He said he had a lot calls on it, I gave $100 deposit on Monday to hold it until Friday he was willing, very nice guy.

Congratulations on adding such a fine looking wheel gun to the Family

I too am a 41 Magnum Nut Enthusiast

When it comes to Dan Wessons I have two Model 41s and one Model 741

This one came with the red dot optic and I just left it on and grew to like it

I have been keeping my eye open for one of the Dan Wesson 414 SuperMag revolvers for years now. Unfortunately every one I come across is always more money than I have in the gun fund that day :( I may have to take one of my 357 SuperMags and have the cylinder rechambered to make my own 414 FrankenWesson

I already have plenty of the 414 SuperMag brass on hand due to a closeout one of my supplier's had years ago. The 414 SuperMag just loads with standard 41 Magnum dies.

With that tensioned barrel design, Dan Wessons are always so accurate add to that the inherent accuracy of the 41 and what's not to love?

Bewdy Monson made Dan Wesson!

That is the heavy lug barrel with a vented rib. In the 715 and 744, there were lighter barrel profiles. However, I know nothing about 41 Magnum.

OP- you may want to go over to the DW forum for more info on the 741. I would think a fairly rare beast. I think it will be fairly hard/expensive to find additional barrels/shrouds for the gun.
