I ordered a Victory 22lr online last week my FFL called yesterday and told me it was in, when I got there, he said that he got a Equalizer in it was not booked in yet and ask if I would like to see it. It was under $500.00 so I bought it. When I got home, I took the Victory down to clean it when I looked down the barrel it looked it was leaded up, I ran a brush down it and metal came out I looked again and seen what looked like pitting, so I called S&W this morning and it's on its way back to S&W. Took the Equalizer out this morning fired 28 rounds of Blazer 115gr FMJ and 10 rounds of Federal HST 24GR +P HP from 10 yards it ran great, good trigger, and low recoil.

I’m a bit confused it’s not a striker it’s an internal hammer so it’s cocked and yet you can get it without a thumb safety? Is the rear grip safety all you need for a single action?

That is correct Sipowicz aka P7Newbie :D
Remember the Cult of the P7

All of the EZs are like that & there is the option for a manual safety which my youngest son chose for his 380EZ, He is a south paw, so I swapped the magazine release
The NEW Equalizer uses M&P Shield Plus Magazines
So, the EQ is a EZ9 Plus
Also, the 15-Round magazines from the EQ will also fit the Shield Plus, of course this was all planned ahead of time by S&Ws Research & Development Department
I would guess a Performance Center Model will be coming very soon, Like in one month = two weeks before Christmas or Black Friday = Two Weeks, will have to wait & see

That being said I really like the Equalizer

Per emails with Smith and Wesson the Equalizer uses the same holster as the 9EZ. The sights on the equalizer are the same as the M&P Shield Plus.

If trigger dingus is enough on a Glock, why not? It's all down to the individual's comfort level. Wife#1 wouldn't have a semi auto in the house without a manual safety. Wife#2 accepts my counsel on the subject of gun safety.

Obviously, I have missed something because this is the first time I heard of this "Equalizer" so I looked it up:

EQUALIZER™ | Smith & Wesson

(c) Smith & Wesson

I like it and I can see where a manual safety is unnecessary. A 1911 is technically safe even with a cocked hammer due to its grip safety (not recommending anything here, jus' sayin') so why should this Equalizer be any less safe?

Brain first.

Finger off trigger.

No problem.

Usually, but brain first has to be in gear at all times in our world. ;)
