Looks great, sir - I think! Your photos are about the tiniest I've seen ... ;) I didn't know about the grip panel differences. Since it couldn't be rusted underneath the panels I didn't even pull them on mine.

Nice gun, excellent price. Enjoy.

I didn't even know they made the airweight frames before the 12.... Wow. Learn something new all the time around here.

Very nice model 12.
S&W's most under rated revolver..IMHO.
This model was packed by many of the old
time Detectives I worked with.
My 1963 vintage.

I picked up this model 12 in excellent condition for $250.00. I think I did well. Locks up very nice, and very little holster wear.
Fantastic deal. The revolver looks great.

Don't lose the stocks. Regular K frame stocks don't fit the M12.
I never realized this

Now I am going to have to go home tonight and look at my Airweight's grips, 1953 vintage here

Not that I really have any intentions of changing the grips, or even carrying this one for that matter

Art Doc,
Where does this comment come from?

When I got home tonight I pulled out my 1953 Airweight 38 M&P (pre Model 12 for some folks)

I compared the Airweight 38 M&P's grips (numbered to the revolver) to a pair from a much more modern Model 65's grips and they are identical in shape and size.

Is it possible that you were thinking of the Centennials when compared to other J-frames and not the Model 12?
