Can't wait til I get some extra cash! I love the fixed sight K frames.. Model 10 will probably be it, but I would also settle on a model 13, or 65. I actually want to carry it, or atleast be able to sometimes. So I'm also going for 3" barrel, and a round butt model if I could be so lucky! Theres alot you can do with a bad finish these days. I might have mine shipped off the Robar, when I quit dreaming and actually buy one :) congrats! have fun

Truth be told I never really liked the k frames until I actually picked one up and held it at a gun show. Just felt right in my hand. About time I got one! I'm sure I'll have a couple more before all is said and done. You know, a 3", 2", maybe a 5"....

I'm a lifelong Colt fan who was lukewarm about Smiths until fairly recently.
It was a brand thing.
I always learned all I could about Smiths and Colts, but I just didn't lust after Smiths the way I do now.
With the exception of about half of Smith's revolvers. There have always been a bunch of them that I liked.
Anyhoo, the K frame always felt like the perfect revolver to me.
The grip size is perfect, for me.
The gun size and weight are perfect, for me.
I never was crazy about adjustable sight Smith revolvers (aesthetically), until I shot one.
It's like it was for me with the original Ruger GP100 grip.
You have to shoot one to understand the beauty of it.
Being in my 40s, Smith's adjustable revolver sights are much easier for me to see, than their fixed sights.

I love my "Ugly Betty" model 10 heavy barrel.
She has finish issues, which I'm undecided as to how (or if) I'm going to rectify.
She has a wonderful action.
I may not even refinish her.
If she's ugly, nobody else at the range will want to shoot her.
Then, I'll have her all to myself.:D

Now, my 15-3 is a thing of beauty. I think I'll name her Sofia, as in Vergara, hottest woman on the planet (IMO). Yep, that's how much I love that one.

I'll take any good K frame in any caliber.

Just bought a mod 10-5. I had one a long time ago but I gave it away. This one will make a good second pocket gun.

Jaymo, not sure how I feel about the adjustable sight guns yet. I was always against them as I just thought they looked funny (IMO), sitting up top on a revolver. But the more I look at them it's growing on me. Might have to try one some time. My wife is gonna kill me and I really ought to stop coming on here. Gonna get me in trouble!

Picked up a 10-8 a few months ago and can now see why people here say everyone should have a 10. Really enjoy shooting it.

Here's a picture of it. Picked it up for $275. It was VERY dirty when I got it. However this is just a quick clean up to it. It's not perfect, but I still love it! Stocks match serial number too.

Had a question that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on. I'm no expert or anything, but from what I'm seeing on the net, the diamond magnas were used until at least 1968. Some say they were used after also to use up leftover stock. However if my gun was manufactured in either 66 or 67, it shouldn't have the plain stocks on it, correct? They are serial numbered to the gun and to me they look like pc magnas. Is it possible that my even though my gun was manufactured earlier, that it sat at s&w for a few years before it was shipped, with the newer style stocks?

You've got one of those guns that can be dressed either way.K frame diamond magnas and a grip adapter would look great on there.Or even some bone or antler magnas with a t grip.
