So after waiting the 72 hour waiting period I picked my gun up last night. It is a brand new S&W SD9VE. I got it for 379 plus tax but it came with a 50 dollar mail in rebate so 329 after I get that back. This is my first firearm and I spent lots of hours researching and reading reviews and decided this was what I wanted. I was going to wait a bit longer to get it but when it went on sale I couldn't pass on it. I plan on going to the range later today. I really can't wait to shoot it. I cleaned and lubricated it this morning. It was kinda dirty for a new gun. Any way here it is

Congrats! First of many, I promise you, haha.

I'm not an SD series fan, but it is a decent entry level gun, and you can't go wrong with an S&W!

Is S&W running another rebate program?

So ran 50 rounds of range ammo in it with no hiccups. This was mine and my wife's first time shooting a gun. She did good but got a little nervous as it was busy today. I did ok I think for my first time. Out of the 40 rounds I shoot I put 5 in the bullseyes and a lot to the left of the bulls eyes and some low and to the left. Overall it was very fun and we had a blast.

Practice makes perfect. I've been shooting for nearly a year and Im just now comfortable enough to shoot at 15yds. I trained over and over again at 7 and then 11yds until i felt my grouping was tight enough to warrant stepping back. Right now at 15yds Im shooting 4-6in groups so a few more trips and i may try my hand at 20yds.

It was my first firearm as well. I am very happy with it. I must admit though I have not been able to stop since then. I think I am up to 4 firearms and I just bought mine in April.

The SD9VE is my first semi auto hand gun and so far, after well over 500 rounds through it, it has been flawless. I have several revolvers and a couple AR's and I must say, this SD will not be my last semi auto. I did install the spring kit from Apex and that made a world of difference!!

Congrats! I pick mine up this weekend after my CCW class. I too have to count down the hours until I am legally allowed to pick up my gun. This is my second 9mm. Super excited to own a legendary Smith and Wesson pistol!

You made a fine choice. The SD9 is a gun worth more than the asking price. I like mine a little more and more each time I shoot it. After all the Apex goodies of course.....
