Non-CA, did SSE work, DROS and pickup today.

Quick cleaning at home and off to the range! Put about 100 rounds through it and no problems, three different manufacturers. Not one FTF or FTE.

Was a bit worried with all the postings lately however I equate it to anything popular where there are many in circulation. Kept thinking of all the issues ive read about over the past month on the Shield40. Went to the range with nervous anticipation Ive never had prior with a new gun. After first 50shots or so my hesitant feeling went away.

Range report: trigger felt much better than expected right out the box. Crisp break with no anticipation. I was surprised at how well I shot it first time out. No problem keeping it on target, double-taps and pretty tight group for first time out!

I want to shoot another 500rounds, maybe more, before I start to carry it. Surprised may not be the word Im looking for. I have a full size M&P9 and love it so I would expect nothing less. I also have some other SubCompacts with triggers not as nice as this Shield right out of the box. Well worth the investment!

I would recommend!

Congrats on the gun!! I've got close to 200 rounds threw my 9 Shield and I love it more the more it breaks in. I've read about the problems with the 40 and I have to say most of what I read is ammo related. IMO Just stick to a good factory ammo and you should be fine. Once again congrats!!

Good choice. I have a Shield40 and my wife EDC's a
Shield9. Had both for around a year now and neither
has ever had the first problem. A buddy of mine got the
mags mixed up and shot 9mm out of the 40. Other than
the fail to eject the swollen 9 out of the 40 barrel, it
still was on paper at 15 yards. ;) (All my mags are marked
now.)
I've read all the nay-say too but you get that with every
gun made. If it works for you, that's all that counts.

went to the range again yesterday and shot another 100 rounds through the Shield .40

No issue at all.

It actually surprised me at how accurate and consistent it shot. A bit to the left, im sure it was me, however a tight group.

Slide has loosened up a bit, trigger feels good to me!

I will say that the magazine springs a REALLY tight. Tough getting that last round seated. Im sure they will loosen up as well.

Really like this pistol. .40 snap doesn't seem too bad to me!

Congratts to all the new shield owners. I have had mine now for about two years. Picked my .40 up in the first 6 months of production. Have shot over a thousand rounds now with no issues at all.
