In re-reading the posts, there were several good sugestions??

I pick up brass I don't even have guns for........yet. sick??????

I have to throw this one in. I went to a shooting event last weekend. The pasters and the shooter would run out to paste the targets and on the shooters return to the line the other folks waiting had picked up your brass and handed it to you! I shot about 250 rounds and I bet I came home with 220 pieces of my brass. What a bunch of good guys. It was like panning for gold these days..

I made my own brass catcher nut out of a large fishing net frame. I used a laundry mesh bag with smaller mesh size and my wife sewed it around the aluminum frame. It is attached to a adjustable pvc pipe and will catch 90% of my brass from any gun.
If you shoot where there is a hard floor, wood or concrete I used one of those jainitor folding wisk broom things with a small plastic garden rake. The 22's pass through the rake tines. No bending or deep knee bends required.

If I get inspired, I will go take a pic of my contraption.
PICK UP THAT 22 BRASS, IT TAKES AWHILE BUT YOU CAN GET ENOUGH TO
SELL AT THE SCRAP YARD. DON

i bring reloaded ammo for the guys that work at the indoor range where i shoot. otherwise they couldnt afford to shoot at all.

in exchange, they let me pick up as much range brass as i want (like thousands of .45 casings)

its a win-win for everyone.

The best system ever devised for retrieving brass is the 8 year old child. A bit pricey perhaps, but it has no equal.

I have a indoor range within 200 yards that I go to to shoot. If I'm the only one there on the range I pick up the brass that I want and sweep up the rest of the brass. Plus all I shoot is revolvers.

An "incredibly accurate" Hi-Point!! Wonders never cease.

The two Hi-Points I've fired had a tendency to put rounds around the 10-ring.

I get the bend and stretch exercises every time I go to the range picking up my brass and any in calibers I shoot others leave. I've even had some revolver shooters collect theirs for me. I have noticed that the .45 Colt shooters are a very selfish lot and not only are unwilling to leave their brass, they cast evil eyes on mine.

First thing I do when I get to the range is pick up other peoples brass. Then I go through the trash looking for brass. Its a sickness I have, but it gives me enjoyment. Only then, I can settle in and practice.

I too pick up lots of brass that I don't load. I once had about 1000 .380 and I don't even own a .380 and never will. If I still had it, I would've reloaded it and sold it to all those shooters who can no longer find any.

I even pick up steel cases. I grab whatever boxer primed steel .223 that has not yet begun to rust. It doesn't need to be trimmed or reamed and is great for shooting those lost brass matches.

Hello, I'm greener and I'm a brass-aholic. I stop shooting to pick up brass. I'm disappointed if I do not leave the range with more brass than I fired. I pick up 9mm brass and reload it, even though everyone knows that it is not worth reloading 9mm. I've stayed longer at the range just because someone was shooting a caliber whose brass I coveted. I have more dirty brass than cleaned brass. I have more cleaned brass than I could load or shoot in the next 3-6 months. Today, I hit a new low in this addiction, I went trash can diving to pick up brass. Well, it was .45 colt brass.

The world breaks into different classes and approaches to life. Many of today's kids throw pennies on the ground because they don't want to bother with them. You can tell how old and how poor folks were growing up by their ignoring or picking up pennies when they see them. Brass has great value to some of us.

My oldest son argued there was no reason to reload 9mm because it was so cheap at WallyWorld. Now there is none to be hand, he's decided 9mm is a good caliber. Youngest son keeps him supplied with empty brass, both from stuff he's bought new, and from stuff he's gotten reloaded by me.

The entire family are sweepers. We use the broom at the range. No one likes walking on brass. Might as well make a pass every few minutes, particularly if the range has people leaving. I believe the best method is to sweep it to the rear wall, leaving it in piles. Then use the cardboard backing from a pad of large targets as a dust pan. Dump it all into the range bag or ammo can. Then sort it at your leisure. Return the steel case and aluminum stuff to the range next visit.

We're in an ammo drought. There is no place for pride when we're talking about reloading supplies.

It looks like a fine mesh seine net to me. Like this one at about 1/4th the cost:

Heh, good call on that one.

I find myself at group shoots where we use the classic plastic tarps to catch the brass and keep the line clean. They work ok, but they are bulky when folded and catch and retain rain water when deployed on the line. I wonder how well these seines would stand up to being walked on all day and ground into the ground.
