I'm pretty excited to be picking up this Model 19-6 snubby. A snubnosed revolver has been on my wish list for a while. This one has had very few rounds fired through it....no mark on the cylinder, lockup is great on all cylinders, timing is spot on, and the forcing cone gap between the cylinder is perfect as well. I'm curious what you guys feels is a fair price for this guy? It's dirty in the photos, but I believe it'll clean up and look fantastic.

Thanks in advance,

Warner

Nice looking Smith. No such thing as a "fair" price these days. But I'm old and cheap. I have seen 4" model 19's sold recently in very good condition for $800-$900 but rarely see any more short barrels for sell in as good a condition as yours. The days of getting any vintage Smith 19 in good condition for $500 are long gone. I don't know how much more of a premium to put on the short barrel but I'm sure its a couple of hundred dollars. If you got it for between $800-$1000, you did okay.

Thanks much! I'm really excited to be picking it up, and based on your estimate, it seems like I'm getting it for a good price. Revolvers aren't cheap!

Congrats! That will clean up nicely, I'm sure!

Needs a set of wood Combat stocks. Try Vitoonwood on Amazon or the same guy as Vitoonmakers on EBay.

Excellent quality, fair price. I've heard he lurks here but can't join because of his Thai location.

A couple of photos of his grips attached; SB dark Combats on the 66-1, RB Combats on the 65-5 LS.

FWIW, the profile of his grips is a little different from S&W originals. I have both… I can't tell the difference shooting, even back to back.

Pretty nice M19, you'll enjoy it... :)

These aren't growing on trees these days, congrats...

Congrats on a great revolver.

They are very hard to come by. Those that have them are inclined to keep them.

Thanks....I was excited to stumble across it. I bought some tools from a guy and we started talking and I told him I collect lots of different things, including firearms....and it progressed from there.

When I go to gun shops or shows these days in a sea of plastic framed autos, in shops where hundreds of pistols are on display, I might see less than a dozen revolvers, and most will be new J frames with the lock.

Looks to be in great condition! Had a snub 19 back in the late 70s bought new. Came with the rounded butt wooden grips stock, and glossy bluing all for $180 new! Didn't realize how valuable it would be these days. Hold onto this one and glad ya scored it!

I plan to....thanks!
