Here is the 25-9 in .45 Colt (not ".45 Long Colt" listed on barrel :D ) I just picked up. It appears to have been little fired, if at all. It is in perfect shape. Now I need to load up some ammo...see article below!

I just keep acquiring N-Frames. I guess it is better than gambling...

Beautiful gun. Putting another Smith in the safe is as good as putting money in the bank. Come to think of it, probably better.

You got yourself a beautiful gun, I really like the grain in the wood in the grips/stocks. Congrats..Ray

Thank you for adding the link. I didn't know much about the non fluted cylinders. Very interesting! And all the other information.

Yes, that was a good point about the un-fluted cylinders. I never thought of that either.

The article link I posted answered some questions regarding the durability of the Model 25 with various handloads. John Linebaugh would seem pretty knowledgeable on matters like that. I could never get a good answer on where the 25 fell along the strength continuum from original Colt SAA thru Ruger SA. Now I know at least a bit more.

It is also my understanding that the 25-9 has the endurance package similar to the 29-3E and later revolvers.

Nice looking sixgun with great grips.
I liked the JL link, kinda makes the 454 and up seem sort of moot for a belt gun anyways. A proper bullet(.40 and above) at midrange speeds will do wonders. It always has and always will.
Hope you enjoy your new big bore.

Nice catch.
Steve
