A while back, I ordered a few Model 10s and one (supposed) Model 15 from Jer's in 2009.

I never really did much with the M15 except wipe it down, put new grips on it (came without grips; probably had targets on it originally), and put it in the case.

I recently put a few boxes through her (best shooting wheel gun I own BTW), and then returned home to give it a good cleaning.

I looked all over for a model number, but couldn't find one.

Curious, I checked the serial number (K 234XXX) and found that this particular unit dates to 1955, which (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) makes it a PRE-15 K-38 Combat Masterpiece.

When I bought it, ($215) I noticed that it had quite a bit of holster burn.

I also noticed that it did not appear to have been fired very much (bore was spotless, and there was no visible ring on the cylinder), end-gap is great, and it locks up like a new one.

Anyone else get one of these from Jer's??

I picked up a matching set of CMs off gunBroker a few years ago. Paid $135 for the 38 and $265 for the 22. The 38 was acquired for the starting bid and I don't know why nobody else was interested. The 22 was started at a penny and I was surprised to win the auction so cheaply.

You just need to replac the grips with a nice set of wood ones.

I know, I know......Problem is, I buy these turn-in service revolvers to shoot them........ A lot.

I'm also kind of a cheap-O.

If I even look at a set of target grips, I start thinking about how many boxes of ammo I could buy for the same price!

SaxonPig, those are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

I would LOVE to have a CM in 22lr!

Every time I see a 22 S&W, it's a 6", and they want $800 for it.

If you ever decide to part with yours, please let me know.

ok so...reload and pocket a lot of xtra cash...use a bit for proper grips!

Yeah, yeah....I know I should be loading my own.....

My buddy keeps buggin' me to let him show me how.

Problem is, with 60 hour work weeks, I have little time to do Honey-dos AND reload......LOL:rolleyes:

I already have about 6000 rounds of empty brass, primers, and bullets, but I don't have a press.

Is there a press you would recommend??

If I DO start reloading, I would like a press that can handle rifle loads as well........

get the rcbs rockchucker outfit...it's everything you need and nothing more...top of the line product, unmatched customer service ...then you can REALLY be cheap and save a ton reloading

Amen on the Rockchucker. RCBS makes GOOD stuff, and their customer service is second to none.
