Thinking about buying this model 36-7. Is $305 too much to spend on a non pinned and recessed Chief? Thanks for any input. It ended up selling for $350, and I didnt want to spend that much on it.

A functioning M37-anything in decent cosmetic condition is worth $300 IMHO, although earlier iterations than the -7 are more desirable. I wouldn't anticipate that the 37-7 will appreciate as much over time as would, for example, a no dash model.

As an aside, I don't believe any 38 specials were recessed: that was reserved for magnum revolvers.

Agreed. These were never recessed as far as I know. For reference, I just traded into a M37 no dash of a similar vintage. It is in as new condition and I "paid" $340.00 for it two weeks ago.
This one looks worth $300.00 to me.

Is the revolver pictured a 36 or a 37? Either or, I would say that is a very good price. It needs a set of classic magna grips with a Tyler adapter. Just my opinion.:)

A nice set of Pachy grippers help me to control my Chief very well, the old Magnas get put up in the safe , after making sure they're numbered for the right handgun. To each his own I guess.

That is a decent price, go for it and dont look back. They are great carry pieces.
