Please help me identify this S&W copy Model 19?

Not sure I'd buy into this being a valid e-mail from S&W.

If I saw any value in going forward with this (which I don't), I'd ask the seller to forward a copy of S&W's original e-mail to me.

Sounds like that message was received by the buyer, not supplied by the seller.

Yep! My mistake (I missed the third party involved).

Yet another senior moment (will they ever stop? :().

It is I just redacted his information per his request...

My friend sent the pictures of his now previously owned gun and ser # to S&W, this is their response to him...

Maybe a Rossi (Brazil, pre-Taurus)? I sort of remember that early Rossi revolvers also had the grooved cylinder scoops. But I am sure the Rossi revolvers were marked as such. Unbelieveable that anyone at S&W, even if "Steve" is the greenest new hire, would ever mistake it for a S&W.
