For the first time, I pocket carried my 3" M60 today.

I had to find some work trousers that had a bit deeper pockets than usual.

Plus I used a cheapo pocket holster for now, but have a Mika custom holster on order for 3" J's.

Right now I've practiced most with standard pressure 38 specials and carry it loaded with Buffalo bore SWCHP's.

The speed strip comes along loaded with the same.

I plan to move up to 38+P after some more range time, but it's been raining here in Northern California every day for over a week. Not that I'm complaining because we are still in a drought. I have some Gold Dot 135 grain 38+P ready to go.

I replaced the stock 3 finger grip with an Uncle Mike's boot, figuring it would conceal better. But I'm thinking of going back to the stock grip (shown in the picture). The stock grip has no sharp edges so probably will print even less than the UM.

The M60 is a bit heavy in the pocket. I like 3" J's and feel I can shoot them better than the 2" versions. Plus the extra inch means more velocity. I have a 3" M37 that is lighter, and may move to that, but need to go through the qualification process to get it onto my license.

More than all the above, I need more practice and may look for some kind of snub revolver training class I can go to.

Anyone else pocket carry a 3 inch?

Dave

I have a 3 inch M36, never carry it. I don't pocket carry anything anymore. This summer I dumped out my 360 Scandium twice. Once at my son's FB practice. I bounced on the concrete next to the bleachers. Yes, people saw. Yes, I am a dunderhead.

A three inch revolver (IMHO) is just too big to pocket carry. The dimensions aren't much better than a Glock 19 - which is now my EDC.

But if it works for you, great.

S&W 442 and Mika's pocket holster

Duluth Fire Hose cargo pants and my 442 disappears.

Mika's holster is excellent too.

It's easy to pocket carry a three-inch Model 37 with a bobbed hammer if you have a high-quality duct tape and Mt. Dew carton holster. Really, this works as well for me as any other pocket holster I have used. It lasts until it gets washed in my pants. I won Redneck of the Month awards in all categories, too. Where can I get one of those ducttapedew holsters???

A 3" J magnum probably would not work for me, but hey if it works for you, then more power to you!

I think lots of people would appreciate the .357 option and the longer barrel.

I carry my 60-9 sometimes but stick mostly with a 60 no dash or a 642 for pocket carry. I've tried a 3" 36-1 before and it's just a wee bit too long for the pocket.
