Here is a short 3 minute video that I thought puts some of the police brutality concerns in perspective. I'm not making lite of brutality concerns by some in our country, but as usual, the media's portrayal of the situation is way out of proportion to what's real.

What bugs me is in the case of the 75 year old Martin Gugino, that was shoved, and then tripped and fell down.

I heard that he was told four times to leave the area.
An area that was made off limits by government officials.
Was he breaking the law.............. yes.
Was he told to do this ?

Will he be taken into custody and questioned on why he did this?

I would like to know if the Government is behind this?

Will we really know what is going on?

In this post-modern, feelings first culture, facts don't matter anymore.

Thus the push to defund/eliminate the police. Don't you know that if we do so that everyone will sing Kum-by-Yah while holding hands and visualizing world peace?

As a good Calvinist, I fully recognize the depravity that lies within all fallen humans. I also recognize that our society is looking for solutions in all the wrong places.

Like shown in the video on how few incidences had merit I have gotten 1 or 2 tickets in my life, I took them knowing I deserved them and wished the officer a safe day. Both instances they were curt but professional. These days too many think they are the exception and should be treated as if a prince or princess when pulled over for a ticket and if not behave like they have been abused by the encounter and may call anything up to police brutality because their widdle feelings were hurt. Suck it up snowflake, the officer is there to give a ticket.

Warning graphic shooting of a person in hotel hallway.

How many remember this "execution in Arizona hotel? Where was the outrage, the demonstrations the riots? No one could follow this crazed instructions. Note there was another cop there, he already handcuffed the Women
I attached this video as it shows the actual shooting, the other videos out there are better (longer) but have been edited to remove the actual shooting. This Cop just wanted to shoot him from the beginning! The guy was ZERO threat. Where was the partner, where was the Taser??

He was acquitted, retired and gets his $2500.mth pension.

The statistics in the video do not
take into account crime by region
or city. In other words, they are
skewed to present only a national
picture.

For instance, it states that 14,827
murders were committed. Does
that mean 296 murders occurred in
each and every state. No, of
course not. Mega-urban areas no
doubt really represent most of those
deaths.

Similarly, the only way to study
complaints regarding police must be
done by region and city.

If the arrest of George Floyd had
not been recorded by multiple
passersby then his death probably
would not have drawn national
attention.

The questions now being asked by
many is how many other such deaths
occur and how many of those are
swept under the rug?

Well is it the way the LE are taught or how people react in a certain area or state, that causes all this tension and problems.

Here in Nevada, 96% of people cuffed................
are in a standing position, since there is no resistance to the officers.
Others are hurt in an accident or under drugs and unable to stand, but seldom do they resist.

My brother is retired and my son looking forward to it........
Not a good time right now for the man in Blue.

I've been thru crowd control training and was an active member of a response unit for years. Officers are trained to use the long baton as a tool. I didn't see anything in the Buffalo video that went against the training I received and in the Officers defense, we were trained to make sharp movements with the baton. It's hard to explain, but if you use the baton to push someone back, the action is a sharp push, then immediately retract the baton. Training, muscle memory.

Nobody officiallly keeps statistics on police brutality, not even homicides.

Someone just provided the statistics on homicides, but "police brutality"? Show me 10 groups that attempt it and I'll show you 10 different results. It's to subjective. Your definition of brutality will likely not match mine. The looters, arsonist and anarchist prowling around would consider showing up for their shift police brutality. So how do you compile statistics on something without a common definition?

Couldn’t pay me enough to take the abuse officers have to deal with daily. We need tougher standards on resisting arrest, and all the other things people do that cause confrontations . No one should have to take the abuse against officers that has been in the news recently. Rioters and looters have gotten away with actions that they should be in prison for now.

I wish every American could see this. While there's always going to be complaints about the manner in which the data is framed up and presented, it still paints a pretty darn good picture of what our cops are faced with. Remember always .... Nobody likes the cops until you need one and before you say it, Yes ..... There's always room for improvement.

The death of George Floyd provided the ideal vehicle for agents of change to capture the attention of the public. As reprehensible as it was, I resent the broad brush used to paint the police as criminals. Anytime I hear "we need to have a discussion" I suggest that you gird your loins.

Its all about the election. As usual, people are being used for other people's purposes and do not even know it. Politicians of an unnamed party lost some key lawsuits over the last few weeks, but you did not see that in their news did you?

well .. if so, it's not gaining the results they had hoped for.
In other areas I follow, there has been a sharp uptick in movement from Denver to Reno and a few to Indianapolis.
The tone deaf have used and abused their people to the point of frustration.
Really ... it does not matter what part of the spectrum anyone lands in ... we are all sick of the punishment.

Nor are the rules the same in all jurisdictions. From what I understand the City of Minneapolis trains that kneeling on someones neck is an acceptable means of restraining a suspect. In other jurisdictions is is strongly banned.
Outside of law enforcement, we have national standards in many things we also have and need the ability to have local customs when appropriate.
I assume these need to continue in police work as well.
