IS THE M&P LINE RIGHT AS RAIN?

PLEASE MAKE MORE THAN ONE CHOICE!!!

If you choose "YES" then let us also know what gun.

If you choose "NO" then let us know what gun and then what your issue if listed.

I went back through 4 pages to gather current issues. If I missed a major one let me know and I will try to insert it. (dont know if you can do that)

It has been asked (wondered)what percentage of guns actually has to go back to S&W. If you have an opinion of what it might be let us know, some are curious.

I dont think we will ever know for sure but this data might be fun to look at. I believe the % will be HIGH due to the fact that people actually COME HERE to seek help with problems. Most would never come here due to not having any issue.

1% has been guessed. I believe thats a little high. That would be 10,000 out of 1 million. I feel like its probably closer to 0.1%
(one tenth of one percent or 1000 per 1mil) but thats just me.

This is an absolute, final say, undisputable, purely scientific, hypothetical poll and the final tally will be tabulated and canvassed by the firm of Dewy, Cheatam, & Howe LLLC.

Yes! M&P 9 full size bought new in Sept., 2016, zero problems. The trigger has an audible and tactile reset, even though people say it doesn't. Go figure.
 
My Shield 9, Bodyguard .380 and M&P 22 Compact have been outstanding. Haven't shot my Shield .45 yet but I have no doubt it will be outstanding as well.
 
I didn't vote yet. One problem area on my Shield 9 is not listed. That being the gritty trigger and sticky striker block pin. I performed the suggested mods with a couple of my own and it cured the problem. It's been a good shooter after that. The trigger pull dropped to 4.5-4.75lbs. with all original parts.

Oh, and one more problem for me. The mag springs are stiff as nails. I had to buy a tool to load my mags--An extra expense that should be unnecessary.

Absolutely YES. FS9, FS45, 45c, (2)9c, 22c, BDG380, (2) shields9, shield 45, (2) Pro 9, Pro Core 9.

I currently have three M&P Pros, a 45 FS, 45c, 45 Shield and a BG380. I've owned probably a half dozen others in the M&P line too.
All have been problem free and a joy too own.
A few have Apex sears and /or TFO sights but are otherwise stock.
 
Yep, i would say all my MP's are just fine. Likely better than i could be with them as well. My 3 current models (full size 9, compact .22, and PC Shield 9) each has between 1-2k rounds and all have had zero issues. Had a compact 9 that i could have said the same thing as well.
I leave mine all stock, I see no reason to modify any of them. Each has a different purpose but I enjoy shooting them all.

I apologize for that. I meant to put an "other" category but I didnt write it down:rolleyes:

...and I cant go back in and change it:mad:

Maybe a mod could "fix" that for us?;)

See, from where I'm sitting these don't really qualify as "problems".

They might be things that you don't like but if the gun functions as designed I don't think you can really call them problems.

To me, problems are things that cause functionality or reliability issues. You know, things like failures to feed, extraction or ejection issues, parts falling off the gun , etc.


(Sorry if I'm off base as I can't see the poll right now using Tapatalk so I don't know if annoyances like gritty triggers or magazines that are difficult to load are listed on the poll.)
 
I can happily report no legitimate problems with three M&P pistols (an original model, a compact model, and a 2.0 version all in 9mm) and currently have a Shield in 45ACP that I haven't had a chance to shoot just yet so I can't comment about it yet.

There were some minor things I didn't like about the original M&P models that made me find new homes for both my full size and compact model but reliability was spot on with both.

I've only had my 2.0 for a few months and have only put about 450 rounds through it so far but it quickly making its way up my list of favorite handguns. In fact, it might have already surpassed my VP9. While the trigger is better on the VP9 in my opinion, I find the 2.0 to just be an overall better package.

Your mileage may vary.
 
Holy Moley,....I guess so! I have 4 now. Just didn't realize that until just now. Bought a 2.0 FDE 9 (11537) yesterday and haven't been happier. Have all calibers.....45,2 9mm, 357 SIG w/ a .40 bbl. Unbelievable!
 
Full size 9, 9compact and 45 compact. All three have been nothing but fun to own and shoot and carry. I tend to shoot the compacts better than the full size, but then again, I shoot them more than I shoot the fs. All three are unaltered from the factory and the only problem I have is keeping enough ammo loaded for them.:D
