I have a M&P 2.0 metal competitor and noticed that no light was getting to the end of the sight. The sight has three channels (one on the top and one one each side) but very little light gets to the end to the point that it looks black and not green. This sight does not have and opening in the front like most.I did try cleaning the tube on each side and no change but there was some light dirt. Has anyone heard of this and have a fix?

Seems odd... Generally speaking, FO sights self-correct for best visibility in various light conditions. In really bright ambient lighting they'll be extremely bright, and grow dimmer as ambient light decreases. The light reaching the FO rod through the three sides should be adequate. Have you tried cleaning the face of the rod? I'd using a drop of alcohol on a a cotton swab. Perhaps you have some sort of build-up on there that's interfering with light transmission.

Hopefully you can swap out the fiber.
I prefer the replaceable FO sights, so I can cut the fiber and install a fresh, bright new one.

Mine get dull after a year or so.
Or just three or four range sessions shooting Titegroup.
