oh...i'm out there.
A lot of people that I've spoken to have been extolling the virtues of Poppycock over Crunch 'n Munch (both are a carmelcorn based snack!) although I've always loved Fiddle-Faddle and my wife swears by Cracker Jacks. I guess it's all good, but what is the favorite in your house? Does anyone remember Screaming Yellow Zonkers?

Not much of a fan for any of that stuff. Pop Corn is meant to be salty and buttery and peanuts are meant to be salty and roasted.
I do remember screaming yellow zonkers however.

I hope you weren't screaming "yellow zonkers" with all of the utility b.s. you had to endure!

But I do tell the wife that I feel better after a good expletive-laced tirade. (Probably why I love the 2A/Pol. forum.)

Screaming Yellow Zonkers

...ah yes.....

but I agree POPCORN has certain standard that must be kept intact or all will lead to darkness & chaos....

A bag of hot Garrett's Caramel Corn... bought fresh out of the kettle from one of their downtown Chicago stores...

The right way to muster your energy for the slog through the snow to the train station.

+that and lets not forget boiled peanuts.

I do remember Screaming Yellow Zonkers, but old time Cracker-Jack was pretty hard to beat.

Boiled peanuts, oh yes!

I also like Cracker Jacks once in a while. But popcorn is meant to be salted and buttered.

I hadn't thought of SYZ in a long, long, long time ! They were great. I also, like my popcorn - straight !! No flavors ! Just salt and butter. Plus, made in a pan on the stove.

I tried boiled peanuts in four states a couple months ago. Pretty disappointed.

Musta been left from the Carter administration....

One of the flavors was pretty good, some cajin-garlic-spicy hot thing....are they supposed to be mushy and harsh tasting? There wasn't much difference between the shell & the nut where I got 'em.

That can't be right.

M657,
Did you get them from a vendor that was making them on the spot or out of a can? I am originally from IL and would not eat those nasty things. Then my wife tried them from a vendor at a craft show in Aiken, SC. She talked him out his recipe and they are now a staple in our home. Of course my wife can cook and bake as well as anyone.
