The excellent Triple N Ranch was open for the 1st time today after the storm. They had much damage and downed trees, the water was still almost on 441 in some spots today.
Haven't fired a shot since weekend before Memorial Day. 1st time with "corrective" glasses and wow, what an improvement. I could not believe I shot the 4" shoot-n-see to pieces at 45' with the 2" Model 34. That's never happened. I only packed it in case the Ruger failed, it didn't. I got bored with it after 90 rds and that's why I broke out the 34. Musta put almost the same amount of rounds through it. Hurts my trigger finger after awhile though, small for my hand
Next was P07 time. It's now my every day carry so I try to practice with it, giving me a chance to wear my beloved 6906 I keep loaded for just such an occasion. 115 flawless rds, an extra box over the ration but I needed it. That gun will put a bullet exactly where it's aimed, every time. I interspersed 15 rds of 124 gr "HST LE Tactical" (at $1.25/rd replacement cost it stings) in 8 mag loads, all hit POA, even if my POA was other than the bull.
Finished with a box of .38 in the Model 15-3. S/a or D/A runs like a Timex.
I thought I should shoot at 7 yds after a long layoff, I'm glad I didn't.
Weather is beautiful, folks are cheerful (there).
I engaged the fellow next to me in conversation during cold range, he was shooting one of those "Glock rifle/pistol/brace conversions." Even with a red dot optic, shooting a full size silhouette at 21' impacts ware all over. Turns out he was active military just back from overseas and hadn't fired a shot in 3 years. I was tempted to snark: "Don't Uncle Sam give youse any extra bullets to practice with on yer downtime?" I'm 70 next birthday and an *** kicking is the last thing I need on a beautiful day. Joe

Glad your range is open . We were all set to go out for our weekly range and lunch , but we had to settle for just lunch .My buddy , who's an RO and on the board , went out to feed the cat on Monday . He reported back the range was closed and there was a gator floating on the 100yd range . Hopefully we'll be good to go next week .

Time to warm up the Hedgehog, Squid, or a Limbo.

(The navy guys will get it)

Why not shoot the alligator just like you would a copperhead or cottonmouth?

Why are they protected?
I was not aware there was any kind of alligator shortage in Florida; and besides, they seem to be quite a public nuisance.

It's just the way it is in many states, lots of stuff with teeth and attitude are on the "don't mess with it" list.

.Gov types realized they were almost extinct awhile back. So they put them on "the list." Egg layers got busy and today you gotta be careful stepping in a puddle after a rain, you could lose a foot. When I got here in 1980 I swam in lakes, waded for Bass. Now, you're "gonna need a bigger boat." Joe

What kind of “ book” are the guns on? LOL…. bet some don’t know.

Used to go directly in the recycle. I got a very nice "cleaning mat" last Christmas, too nice to use. Instead I use the book to absorb the goop from cleaning. When they throw a new one on the porch I'll replace it. Joe
