Yeah, I wouldn't mind swapping my barrel out for a 2 1/2 inch 586 barrel. All these 586s are beautiful but wow, Lou_the_welder, what a nice 2.5" 586 you have there! Fantastic combat stocks too.
Here's a no dash AFV serial range 4" 586.

I've posted pictures of mine before in other threads it is by far my favorite Smith 586-4 with Culina grips.
Yours is much like mine, with a softer finish, unless the lighting is playing tricks.
Have a couple with 7 shot titanium cylinders in 38 spl (so they are legal here in Mexico).
I just love them!
They both have Arhends grips now.
I have a couple 586 no-dashs. The one on the left is pretty much a safe queen. It is a very early one with serial number AAA62XX. I have the original stocks but I found the ones on it now on eBay a while back....since I liked the look I put them on it. To my knowledge this one has had only 12 rounds shot through it. The one on the right is an early no-dash also, with a serial number of ACU27XX. I have the original stocks for it also, but because this one gets shot and carried hunting & camping a lot I put the Pachmayr stocks on it.
