My Favorite S&W is my Next S&W
I’m NOT a box collector but this is my favorite BOX !! A little water wicked its way to the white box and serial number end of the box.
The 50BMG round hides the gun serial number printed on the label.
The black gun came in the box. The story of its arrival is a fascinating one, the ending goes like this. I told my wife I “wanted “ it for Christmas and she gave it to me in my Easter basket!
King of the cabinet for sure, but then the Satin Model,,,
With exact serial numerals made its way SOMEHOW into my information silo.
My 686-3 snub. I consider the -3 to be the high water mark due to fixing all the issues with the early iterations while still retaining the forged & chromed hammer/trigger combination. This one is extra special to me because the date on the wood combats is my father's birthday and he was the man I looked up to most, growing up.
Without a doubt, my 1940 .38/44 Outdoorsman. Not only is my favorite to shoot because of the buttery smooth trigger but, it was my Grandfather's first LEO duty carry.
My sons are already campaigning to be the one that gets it after me.
Hard to pick just one, but my current favorite, a M67-1, has renewed my interest in the .38 Special cartridge...with true wadcutters or Lyman mold 358156GC SWC, this Louisville Police turn-in from long ago is still a formidable contender for daily carry here on our farm. With a butter smooth DA trigger and a crisp SA, it's a joy to carry. Best Regards, Rod
