Post Your Beast in all of its GLORY!!

Blooded my MP10 on 15 pointer fallow stag.

My 14 yo boy also got a spiker with my Sako 85S, so lots of venison now in the freezer.

You have too much scope on the gun. You cheat!

HaHa, all my scopes are S&B. addicted to their quality.

The main purpose for the MP10 is for "sniper" competitions here in NZ, 2 persons, 1 precision (.338) and 1 operator (.308)

Hence why I was determined to get 1" of less groups.
Always nice to blood them, and Fallow is delicious :)

Posted this in a thread about .308 suggestions... Figured I would repost here as well. I've had my S&W M&P10 for about 2 years now. At first, I was really disappointed in its performance. It seemed to have real problems cycling low pressure ammo and just had lots of teething issues in general. I decided to have a buddy of mine who is a qualified gunsmith tear it down and put it back together for me to see if he could figure anything out. When I did this, I changed the gas block and put a Troy quad rail on it and I also decided to hydrodip the rifle in that multicam tiger stripe (not really my favorite, but it works well here in FL). After it was torn down and reassembled, I haven't had any problems with it. Shoots low pressure and high pressure loads, both suppressed and unsuppressed without any issues. I didn't ask him what he did, but I guess he tweaked a couple things and now it just runs. I also decided to go with a fixed A2 stock. To do this, I had to call S&W to send me a spacer for the buffer tube because the M&P10 buffer and buffer spring are proprietary.

Optics are a Leupold VxR 3-9, Aimpoint T1 on a KAC offset mount, and KAC offset irons. It's also got a Geissele 2 stage trigger in it and the bipod is an Atlas on a LaRue mount. I don't plan on changing anything else with this rifle. I'm pretty satisfied with it in its current form. I'm waiting to see what DD comes out with next. I don't have a huge need for more than one .308 AR because its primary purpose is hunting and maybe an occasional scoped rifle class. The DD .308 would primarily be for fun shooting and I would keep it simple. But anyway, here's my M&P10:

Thanks for looking!

Looks good to me!

Can't help you much with the ammo. Some rifles are really picky on what they like. Some shoot cheap ammunition well but not good match ammo. Others are the opposite. Some rifles prefer a specific brand and bullet weight above all others. One just never really knows but to try different ammo and figure out what your particular rifle likes best. With any luck, more than one rifle that yo have in that caliber is fine with it as well. Ain't shootin' fun? :D

Not so. The M&P-10 uses an A5 style RE, carbine buffer and if I'm not mistaken, a rifle spring

Very nice rifle, by the way. I like what you did with it

AR15 buffer tube fits MP-10 threads

Easiest way to 'fix' an A2 stock install on an MP-10:
It will function AS-WAS if you make an aluminum (or whatever) cylinder to drop down the longer A2 tube, then just drop the stock spring and buffer on top of it. If you will carefully measure the inside length of the stock S&W folder's tube, then the inside of the A2's tube you can determine the length of the plug(cylinder) you need. This will trick the stock parts into believing they are still in the stock S&W folder.
I have heard that a stack of quarters will suffice in the interim. Cheers!

Yes, it works and not a hiccup.. :D

Just picked mine up the other day. Can't wait to shoot it. I thought it was difficult to purchase a weapon in California its harder to find a place to legally fire them!

I like it. The hanguard matches the rest of the furniture well!

Thanks Sgt.... I was so lucky, DH actually had that handguard specially coated and on the shelf. I'm telling Dave to get a few done and advertise em for the Camo M10's.. I wanted the 13.5" but he had the 15".. It sure is nice to know the owner... great guys there.

Turbo38gn what color is that considered. It looks like a goldish. That looks awesome. I just bought the same rifle and wanted to put a free floating handguard on it but was unsure what color to go with.

And this is my first post for the site. My gun will be here today so I just recently became a member to this site to learn as much as possible about my gun. Thanks in advance.

Welcome JIA ........YOU'RE in the right place, and, looks like you purchased the right gun.... not sure of the lcolor, but definitely a green. Check out Diamondhead USA ONLINE for the free floating hg. Many options available, I'll check on the color when I get over there. It was a one off piece.

Ok..thanks..I Definitely want to get the Diamondhead rail..your gun is the best looking one to me that I have seen.

Have you had any issues with the low profile gas block? Such as not cycling right? Or coming loose after several shots?

Thanks again

No problem at all. ... use their stuff on all my ARs.

I stopped by DH today, the handguard was coated by a customer that returned it because they ordered the wrong one..
