pow mia flag

So yesterday was viet nam veterans day, there were many post online of the pow mia flag.
As a viet nam vet, i understand the original intent but I for one would like to see it retired.
I doubt any more pows will ever be returned, and many of the mia's will never be found. I, like most vets will never forget those men and I don't need a flag to remind me. After this and perhaps the next generations passes they will be forgotten.
The prime reason I would like to see it go is that it has to be one of the most ugly and depressing flags I have ever seen!
I think the American flag is beautiful and should stand alone.
What say you?

Regardless of its cosmetic appeal, it is a visual reminder to those of us who know what it represents and may be a prompt for a younger person to look up its meaning.

I will never forget-and will do what I can to make sure others don't. I fly my "All gave some-Some gave all" flag on both vets and memorial day, and it features the pow-mia flag.

We are still recovering MIAs from Korea, and from time to time the remains of some are recovered from WW2. The flag is still valid.
