Does anyone have experience with either the hornady auto charge pro or the RCBS charge Master lite? I currently use Lee dippers, or cases partially filled with wax and a beam balance. Looking to upgrade. Thoughts and comments?

I have a friend that has the Hornady auto pro and really likes it. I have used it a couple times and I am going to have to have it. Works really good.

I can't speak to the lite but I have an RCBS charge master and it works very well. It sure beats the balance beam and a tea spoon. I like to weigh every charge when I load for rifle and it is pretty quick. Mine is an older version and the new ones are supposed to be even faster. It's a great investment for your loading bench.

I have a charge master lite. Works great, have ran flake, stick, and ball powders with no issues at all.

Plug it in, turn it on, let it sit 10-15 minutes to warm up, calibrate it, and have at it. The scale isn’t a million dollar lab scale, but it is very sensitive so no ceiling fan running, and have it on a separate table beside the bench so the press doesn’t disturb it while working brass.

It is very simple to use, I’m technologically unadvanced if that tells you anything.

I have used a Lyman since 2002. I like the way it meters anything well. It is effected by fluorescent lights and probably cell phones being near it, within 6' anyway. It changed the way I load, in that I now use a turret press for most weighed charges and prime, dump powder and seat the bullet. It can dispense and weigh 55+ grains of powder long before I have the next case ready. If mine died today I would buy another immediately.

Been using an older Hornady Auto Charger for everything that is not being loaded on a progressive press, which is basically everything except the bulk practice loads.

If it ever breaks I'll be getting another one. It doesn't have all the features and the interface is far from perfect, but works great for what I need.

It's just easier than scooping and trickling to weight, and there are some powders that don't meter well through something like an auto disk for a target load.

Wow.......... you are old school, almost Cave man.

I am just a little ahead of you with a old Pacific powder thrower.

I should use my trickler more but it is a pain to dump out the powder, when I load so many powders at a sitting.

Good luck with what ever you get.
