can titewad powder be used to load pistol? i have a chance to get some titewad powder. i know it is a very fast burn powder.i cannot find load data for pistol loading. i know nothing about titewad powder. i am just seeking information about it to see if it is worth using for pistol. i would load 380 with it because it it a fast burn powder. any info helpful. thanks ; scooter-2

There was a very recent thread addressing this. Hodgdon is coming out with more data for titewad. It is not a favorite handgun powder because it is so touchy but people have wanted to use it since the shortages started. It's not ideal but it will shoot bullets out of a barrel.

Tw is close to my last choice. It's right between crushed cannon powder and 50 bmg powder through a coffee grinder.
The load data is tight. Min to max in 45 auto is something like .5 grains difference.
Even in the 12 gage, where it is intended, it was the worst about blown patterns of any powder I ever used.

I've used Titewad for light 1 oz 12 ga loads for shooting trap and I
thought it was a fine powder for light loads. It is probably not the best
powder for heavy 1 1/8 oz loads for handicap shooting because of it's
burn rate. As a handgun powder it is a fast burner like Clays, Bullseye,
and 700X and is no doubt best suited for standard pressure loads only.
Hodgdon has provided data for 45 acp and limited data for 9mm but
so far if you want to use it in other calibers you're on your own for data. A bit of searching on the various forums and load websites will
turn up some data.
