I have had no response from S&W after responding to the recall notice and receiving a confirmation number. Are they just slow? Has anyone received authorization to return their PPK or PPK/S?

My friend got his label last week (week ending March 27) and sent in his PPK. I will be curious to see how long before he gets it back.

In an email dated March 13, I was told they are just now being sent out.

Got my label Thursday and it went out on Friday, due to reach S&W by 31 March. Then the waiting begins. Fortunately I have other pistols both for carry and range.

I also want S&W to look at the feed ramp because the seam between the frame and bbl looks rough.

A buddy of mine applied for his recall on the week of the 16th of March using the online option at S&W web site. He's already received his confirmation emails and shipped his gun off to S&W. Not sure why the rest of you haven't heard anything.

My PPK/s-1 was delivered to the Houlton, Maine plant on Airport Road at 8:02am EDT this morning. The countdown begins.

I called them this morning to confirm if mine was part of the recall, which it is. Do not go by the list of numbers on the S&W website as I believe it involves ALL PPK/S except the orginal German made ones.

It does not involve the Interarms PPk series made in the U.S., only the ones produced by S&W since early in 2002 to February 2009.

Mine arrived there this morning. I printed the receipt, marked the date on my calendar, and will hurry up and wait. Well, there's not much .380 ammo available and you know there are no primers either.....

My PPK/S also got to Maine on Tuesday morning, 3/31. I originally applied for return authorization in late Feb. and heard nothing. I refiled about 10 days ago and had the authorizing emails with links to return labels a couple of days later. Shipped Monday, with some irritation stemming from the fact that the local UPS Store refused to accept a firearm return. Had to take it to the local UPS hub.

I wonder what the total bill to S&W will be for this fiasco. It must be significant, with air freight alone eating a huge chunk of their original profit on each unit sold.

Yeah, the local UPS stores won't take firearms, but drivers can pick them up if the shipper is on their regular route. So I shipped both my LCP and PPK back from work. But I have the return shipment come to my home and then I have to go to the hub, but they are closeby and very accommodating, except that they are posted, so I cannot carry in there when I go to pick up my gun.

I talked to the factory two days ago and was told the turnaround time on recalled PPk's would be 8 to 12 weeks because of the heavy volume. The lady said they were receiving "thousands" of them every day.

Hmmm? If that's true, they will only be receiving them for a few days! How many do you think they made?
