I sent in a Walther PPK for a recall on April 20th. They still haven't returned it. Should it really take 10 weeks to repair a gun? I moved on and bought a Glock...

I have a friend in CO that sent his PPK/S in about the same time and he is having the same problem. I told him that as soon as S&W gets someone trained imigration comes in and grabs them. LOL
My PPK was recieved 3/31/2009 I am still waiting for it to be returned. I have since bought a M&P9c, a really great pistol, so maybe they did me a favour.
I spoke with S&W customer service the other day. I sent my PPK back in March. They told me it's just getting worked on and is likely to be done in around 3 weeks. The CS person's explanation was that they had to coordinate the fix and the parts with Walther in Germany. That makes total sense.
Mine was received April 7, still no pistol. This is the response I got from them Firday July 10 via email...
"We are taking care of the recall repairs and shipping an average of 300 firearms per day, the PPK model requires an additional part that the PPK/S model does not, the original time quote was missed due to us not having the part. After we received the part we completed the level test to prove the repair will work and we are beginning the repairs on the PPK this week. We are told by the Walther repair group they will have everything in house completed within six weeks."
Took almost 3 months to get mine back, every time I called the said 2 more weeks. This was the first time ever I was disappointed with their service. Although they did polish the feed ramp.
I hope somebody gets more than just their gun back from S&W , all I got was my gun in very fine shape I might add but it was gone 15 weeks total. I think they should have sent at least an extra clip or range bag or hat or something.
