Prayers for your Dad....Advancing age is tough, and tough is the results of advancing age...I have a feeling your Dad will beat the problem,,,As we get older we have to get tougher....God Bless and keep him and bring him trough this problem....

November 7th 2014: a couple of days ago dad had an appointment with his kidney doctor and i have some good news to share. his kidneys have really improved very much.

An his doctor is going to slowly take him off his primary kidney medicine by lowering the dosage a little at a time.

in the hope that he can stop taking all together.

In six weeks he has to take another pee test and some blood work and he has to see his kidney doctor in two months.

Thank you all so much for all of your prayers and for your kind uplifting words.

they have helped me and my family through this horrible mess.

December 2nd 2014: It is with a heavy heart that i make the following update.

My dad went to his heart doctor yesterday and unfortunately he has to go Back on ALL of his heart medication.

Several of them the dosage was increased from the previous dosage he was taking.

Also he has to have an Echocardiogram in a few days.

Please continue to pray for my dad. He was doing so well and now boom! back to square one.

Matthew, I'll pray that your dad will do well on his medication and that, even though this was not the news you would rather have heard, your dad will benefit from his treatment this way.

I've learned, though it has been a hard at times, to try to focus on the goodness of each and every day, and that God gives us the strength only for today. His grace is always sufficient to meet our needs in the here and now, as the future will have its own set of concerns that we needn't worry about too much today.

Your dad's comfort and health are the reason for these medications in the first place, so the fact that he is well enough still to benefit from them -- even though you'd prefer that he not have to take them -- is a blessing.

My dad, when the end approached, could no longer benefit from the medication he had been prescribed for many years. As often happens, he got to a point where all we could do was to make sure he was comfortable, and though he was not conscious, we had time that we could spend with him without worrying that he was battling to breathe or for his heart to pump. In our case, we were fortunate that this period of time was brief.

My prayer is that that time for you and your family will be far down the road.

Trust and be strong, friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your dad, Matt. Hopefully he has competent medical care, and the medications should help. Keep positive.

John

Hoping for the Best

I do hope that your Dad makes a full recovery. All the best. Prayers offered.

Matt, hang in there! Prayers have never stopped. It's difficult not to look at this setback as back to square one, but do your best not to. Hopefully the docs will get him right soon; in the meantime, we'll just ramp up the S&W Forum praying machine.

update: My dad saw his kidney doctor late last week and he is getting better.

He still has to take his medicine but he is still on the road to recovery.

and that road is getting smoother.

He also got a new job and is working very hard at it.

Thank you for all of your continued prayers and your encouragement.

without them this whole mess would have been much more difficult.

May god bless all of you.

It's great to hear(or read!) that he is making more positive progress. Hang in there!

Matthew, with this crew providing prayers, positive thoughts and best wishes. I think Dad will be alright.;)

January 14th 2015: My dad saw his heart doctor on Monday January 12th 2015, and the doctor gave him some good news.

His Echocardiogram test results came back and it did not reveal anything bad.

he still has to take ALL of his Medicine.

It looks like the health road that my dad has been on is getting a little more smoother.

We all hope it stays that way. But all of that is in God's precious hands, not ours.

Thank for your continued prayers and encouragement.

without them his health mess would have been harder on him and on us the family who loves him.

May god continue to bless all of you.
