Prayers for Marine Corps bikers

The p/up had to have been flying down the road to do that much carnage. 7 dead is unreal. Booze or cell phone very likely the cause but speculation only.
Unreal marines die on the front lines right here. I am so glad I wasn't there to see that.
May the families of the dead and hurt find comfort somehow.

The pickup driver was driving in the wrong direction on the interstate, according to the first account I read. He must have jumped the median very shortly before he took out the bikers. I very nearly got killed that way years ago. The median was a high berm, and a carload of drunks came flying over it to come down in my lane, headed straight for me.

Damn shame. My condolences to the families of these riders.

Sad for the loss, and the suffering of family and friends. Something similar, but less deadly, happened in town just this morning. A woman drove across the median on a four-lane section of Hwy. 93 in south Kalispell near the Harley dealership, and collided with an oncoming car and motorcycle. The "accident" is under investigation. Several folks went to the hospital with injuries, but the extent of the injuries weren't reported.

What do you bet a cell phone had something to do with it. My best friend's son was killed last month by a distracted driver. Turns out the guy was watching a video on his phone when he swerved into the oncoming lane, and hit my friend's son.

It could be inattentive driving, but I think before people start making up their own version like the main stream media does when they are short on facts, it would be nice to wait to hear the facts. I've read one report that the pickup driver had some kind of medical emergency which caused him to loose control. This is certainly a bad situation for the innocent motorcycle riders and their family.

I like to watch the Tour De France on TV when it comes around each year. When one of those bicycle riders at the front of the pack wrecks, it frequently causes a chain reaction and 15 or 20 other riders in the pack will wipe out.

I have always wondered when I see groups of motorcycle riders all riding together in close proximity if the same thing would happen to them if one crashed or another vehicle lost control and plowed into them. I guess now I know. This is horrible beyond belief. The pictures look like a war scene from a battlefield.

I believe a 2500 Dodge is a 3/4 ton truck and with a big flatbed trailer, even empty, that is a lot of weight and can cause a lot of damage.

I ride with a group a lot and we usually spread way out and ride in the other track than the guy ahead. Hopefully it would be hard to get more than 1 or 2 of us. No offense, but it seems like a lot of Harley riders stick closer to each other in groups. Also they may have just taken off and not spread out yet. A really bad deal any way you look at it.
