I have noted the good hearted responses here when forum members are ill or have family members in distress but never thought I would be in this position. My lovely and very patient wife
has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. At this time the doctors at Mayo Clinic say it is inoperative; if chemo shrinks the growth she may have surgery later. She starts chemo next week.
Today she told me she wants her picture taken before she loses her hair so the grandkids will remember her with hair, I had all I could do not to break down in tears. I reassured her that she would dance at their weddings. Fortunately this was discovered in routine scans for another condition so we have as good a chance as we could ask for. All prayers are appreciated.

Wow, this almost brought me to tears. I never really believed in internet prayers but when I had a sub-dural hemotoma (blood in my skull) I became a believer. I posted my situation on a diecast model forum that i belonged to and prayers from all over the world came. At the very least all the good wishes from people I'd never met helped keep my spirits up. I now believe that positive thinking helps.

Right about that time I heard a song by Fun, "Carry On". That became my theme song.

Best wishes t your wife, you and your family. You're on the prayer list.

I've been in your situation. I know pretty well what you're feeling. I will certainly send prayers and good wishes for your wife and for you.

I'm a very visual guy. When I'm facing a situation that concerns me greatly it's nearly always about a person. I like to mentally shrink the object of my concern down to about six inches high, place him or her in my two hands, then raise my hands as high as I can reach and say, "Please hold this, it's too heavy for me." And then take my hands away. I nearly always wind up eventually taking it back, but the technique often buys me some relief for a while and I can repeat it as often as I need to.

Prayers sent from us to your wife, you, and family. May she have a fast and complete recovery.

Prayers sent for you, your wife and your family.

It's true that we never think it will be us, and so twice the shock when we find out that it is. You and your wife have just received news that would rock anyone's world, and I pray that you both will find strength in each other as you face this together. I would bet that you both are more concerned right now for each other's welfare than your own. Please know that all of us here on the Forum are pulling for both of you and that our sincerest prayers will be heading skyward on your behalf.

Prayers from TX for the family. My mother is going through possible liver cancer so you get all the well wishes from us here. It is something that is heart breaking for the entire family.

Some more words going up for the mrs. And for you also. When you need to vent get on here and vent! Don't hold it in! Men do that you know.

Prayers goin' up from Texas. God bless. My wife has had a serious cancer scare and I am a cancer survivor. I can empathize with you. Try to keep a positive attitude and keep your faith.

I offer prayer from Texas for her healing. Additional prayers are offered for strength, peace, and comfort during this most difficult time.

Keep us informed, think of us as your extended family that wants the best for your wife and family.

We will stand with you, even from a great distance.

Hopefully the chemo will work for your wife and she can have a successful surgery. She will grow that hair back after a while as full as ever. She is in my thoughts and prayers. Bless her heart.

Prayers for you & your wife, and prayers that you both will be dancing at those grand kids weddings!

That's some real hard times there. Prayer sent if
mine are any good. Give us an update, when you can.
A family pic that I can post next to my monitor for daily
prayers, is a thought, too.
Everybody is on your side here, mister....
