Picked it up in an out of the way store. S/N C 302xx, 2 inch, barrel maked on left side Smith & Wesson (below) 38 S&W SPC.CTG, no wear, tight. DOB?

As you describe you got a great deal at $300 for a 2 inch pre-10.

yes very good deal on it.I picked up a real nice pre 10 dated late 1945 but it had the hammed spur cleanly broke off where the cut lines started on it. for $250 now to find a replacement hammer.
