I have a couple of pre 17’s. This is the 4”.
Does anyone know what these numbers mean?
I’m getting photos and serial numbers so I know what I have.
Seems like the smart bet just in case.
Not a whole lot of numbers but I wondered what the 5 and 7 meant? Month of the year?
Thanks for any info.

Unless the barrel has been replaced or shortened, this is a .22 Combat Masterpiece - pre-model 18 if you insist.

This gun predated the serial number being stamped in the frame yoke recess. These are assembler, fitter or inspector marks that have no meaning outside of the factory.

Someone’s done some wood carving on the left grip panel. Cutout is way bigger than factory. The serial number is on the butt frame underneath those target stocks.

The stocks are also from a later period than the gun.
